B I O G R A P H Y

Born in a small, Southern kingdom rich in architecture and history, Thespidaes grew fond of language and the arts, preferring to better himself culturally rather than mingle with his court or subjects. He was confident that with his natural charm and intellect, he would be the chosen ruler. However, without action, his words could only carry Thespidaes so far up the ranks. True, his father ruled the kingdom, but that did not guarantee Thespidae's ascension to the throne. His older siblings were just as eager to rule and more willing to prove their worth through hard work and acts of courage. Thus, when the day of choosing a hair came, Thespidaes' father chided him for his pride and entitlement. He was deemed unworthy of becoming the next leader.

Enraged and humiliated, Thespidaes lunged at his father's throat, ending the king's life with a snap of his golden jaws. The court cried with outrage and Thespidaes' brothers dragged him out of the castle, down to the borders of the kingdom's territory. There, he was crucified and left to be devoured alive by the ravens and wolves. As day turned to night, Thespidaes became colder, weaker, and consumed by rage. The broken prince twisted and turned, screaming with triumph when he finally wrenched his limbs free of the nails. On bloody hands and feet, he disappeared into the night.

Thespidaes sought refuge in the furthest reaches of the Southern Icefield, deep within the Cloudscrape Crags. The Imperial would have perished at the gates of the Fortress of Ends had he not stumbled upon the clan of Petrified Wind. It was Morana who welcomed him with open arms. Once accepted into their clan, Thespidaes hid his manipulative, cruel nature behind a charming mask. He quickly won over the trust of the clan and was honored with the position of a war general. In Morana's absence, it fell on the shoulders of Thespidaes and Thanatos to oversee the daily ongoings of the clan. However, Thespidaes' newfound status could not curb the dragon's power-hungry and vengeful ways.

With Morana's blessings and a small army of his own, Thespidaes eventually returned to his former homeland, where he challenged his eldest brothers for the throne. Their wrestle for power quickly exploded into violence across the kingdom, the weeks of conflict titled the Year of the Eclipse in the clan's history. When the dust settled, all three brothers were found with their jaws locked around each other's throats. The golden giants had died mid-battle, surrounded by the ruins of their once great kingdom. It was too late to separate the bodies...Denying eternal rest, the conjoined dragons shivered back to life. With a scream of triumph, Thespidaes rallied what was left of his army and pilfered the kingdom of any treasure that could be found. Stumbling under the added weight of his brothers, Thespidaes lead the way back to the clan of Petrified Winds, back to his Queen and Savior. The dragons of Petrified Winds recoiled from the royal brood and pleaded that Morana do away with the wretched creature. However awful, Morana could not deny what an undeniable asset it would be to have a undying weapon. Despite Thanatos' warnings, Morana decided that she would permit Thespidaes continued sanctuary in her lands and he would keep the title of War General. So long as he could keep the madness at bay...

_FAMILIAR_

During a training expedition in the Volcanic Vents, Thespidaes single-handedly defeated a mountainous Tunnel Hydra, which he's since tamed. Rumors say he feeds dragons who've slighted him to the three-headed pet, but those are just rumors...right?

I am so intrigued by Thespidaes transformation. Or perhaps I should call it a downward spiral into insanity? Haha, honestly I find it to be fun to check his bio to see what has changed about him physically. I was never expecting an Emperor though. If he wasn't scary before, he certainly is now.
For me, I've always felt that Thespidaes is an incredible antagonistic presence and puts the evil in your clan's lawful evil alignment. That feeling is only solidified in his broadcast message. Seriously, looking at it puts chills in my spine. What I really appreciate about Thespidaes is that he embodies what an Emperor should be. Terrifying. He is a monster inside and out. Which is a testament to your skills as an author. What a well designed character.
