Blaine

Blaine is one of the few dragons that was raised on the Island of Gale Rain. He grew up with basically free reign of the land and spent every moment of his time exploring it from end to end. He was constantly out in the forest, upturning rocks and collecting different plants to bring home. He always came back to his cave dirty, with sticks, mud and leaves caught up in his long mane. He spent many hours trekking across Gale Rain exploring its huge diversity of habitats and the collections of species within them. The diversity of wildlife only served to ignite Blaine’s interest in botany further.

He loves exploring the variety of plants, and endeavors to catalog every one. He keeps a journal of carefully drawn sketches of different species, listing their species name and their properties. At first, he did this just as a personal project, but as he showed it to other’s they directed him to Austin. Austin, the clan’s healer, took one look at the journal and immediately knew that Blaine would greatly help expand the clan’s knowledge of medicinal plants.

Blaine began to work with Austin and the two soon became fast friends. Not only were they bonded by their love of botanicas, but they spent long hours toiling away in a lab to create new potions.

They even found ways to use Blaine’s unique stomach contents. Born with a see through belly of undeterminable substance, he had always ignored the substance and given it not much attention. Together with Austin though, they found that it could be an effective weed killer and enrichment for their plants.

Now, Blaine continues his work with Austin and cares for all the greenhouses throughout Gale Rain.
