Adventurous, Humorous, Curious and Charming

Started at Rileykitty's Clan
Growing up Blu always wanted to be an adventurer. Living with Rileykitty was fun, but she wanted more. She decided one morning to just leave. She said her goodbyes and left for adventures.

micer2012's Lair

The first dragon Blu met on their first adventure was a spiral named Jesko. Well, met wasn't really the right word. The fae had been traveling around the Wispwillow Grove, when suddenly a snake-like creature jumped from the shadows, face unseen in the dark, claws bared.... and then the dragon stuck googly eyes on Blu.
"Hey!" Blu said, as she took the googly eyes off to find the spiral laughing. While, admittedly it had been funny, it was rude to sneak up on someone! The spiral stopped laughing and got back on their feet. "Sorry, sorry, you just looked ridiculous in the googlies." The spiral said.
"Googlies?" Blu asked. "It what I call my pair of googly eyes. Googlies!" Blu smiled. That was a fun name. "I'm Blu, I'm on an adventure exploring all of Sorneith!" The fae said, robin blue claw extended. "I'm Jesko. I pretty much just live here and play pranks." The spiral responded, meeting her claw with his own in a handshake. "Want me to show you around?"

The two had a great day, Blu getting to explore all around the shadowy forest. The mushrooms that glowed almost the same color as her scales, the brambles that her wings got caught in, and the trees with branches that almost looked as spirally as Jesko. But the day was almost over, and soon Jesko would have to go back home and Blue would have to continue adventuring.
"I guess this is goodbye." Jesko said. "I guess so.." Blu said sadly. Jesko leaned in. "Hey now, don't be sad, you know you can always come back and visi-" Suddenly, they were stopped midsentence as Blu plopped the Googlies straight onto Jesko's own eyes. "Hey!!" The spiral exclaimed, and Blu laughed. She would not forget her adventures in the Shadow Flight, even through all her other missions.

LadyChipmunk's Travelers Rest

Blu danced with the clouds as she soared over the beautiful orange and gold landscape below, so different from the shadowed forests she'e explored not too long ago. She considered landing to explore more closely, but saw no signs of dragons or anything else that might require such a closer look. It was a gorgeous but lonely land, and Blu found herself taken by an unfamiliar bittersweet melancholy wildly at odds with her cheerful nature. A dragon might fly this sere land for days and never find anything but solitude.

And then she heard the explosion.

Dark smoke that smelled of burned cloth and stinkweed billowed up from a spot about a mile away. Blu zipped over that way, fast as her wings would carry her. She wasn't sure what she expected, but a coughing Bogsneak with crystalline blue scales and singed, but dapper, clothes--including spats--who wore spats?--was not it. Yet, that's what greeted her as she landed.

"Are you okay?" Blu asked, afraid to get too close to this new dragon and the bubbling over cauldron beside them.

The dragon waved a hand in a placating gesture as he or she, there was too much smoke still for Blu to tell-- finished coughing. "Fine, fine. Just a slight miscalculation. Probably shouldn't have tried to substitute that milkweed. I mean the two plants are in the same family, but given the structural differences in leaf shape and---" the dragon stopped as she turned to look at Blu. "I don't know you."

Blu offered a bright smile. "I'm Blu. I'm on an adventure!"

"Prism." The Bogsneak--clearly a girl, Blu noted as the smoke started to clear--went to offer a hand to shake, but then looked at her palm instead. "Hmm. The residue is purple, and it seems to have a faint bioluminescence. Fascinating. I wonder if that could be used for lanterns. Heilyn did want some alternatives to the fiendcat burning everything down, and while I could simply build a fire-resistant overlay for the walls..."

The Bogsneak started to wander away, eyes still on her palm rather than the environments. Probably why she walked straight into a tall rock outcropping and fell down. "Oof. Now, who put that there? Terrible landscaping design. Not at all right for--"

"Are you okay?" Blu asked again, suddenly worried the smoke might have addled the poor dragon.

"She's fine," a deep voice came from above. Gliding over to where the Bogsneak remained sitting, still babbling to herself, a striking blue and black Mirror dragon in an awesome, super-bright sweater landed. "Prism can just get a bit distracted when she's plotting." He put a hand on the Bogsneak's arm and hoisted her up. "Isn't that right, Prism?"

"Hmm, what?" She looked up and tilted her head in confusion. "When did you get here, Onyx?"

The Mirror chuckled. "Just now. You want to introduce me to your visitor or tell me about the explosion first?"

"Visitor?" Prism looked around and her eyes landed on Blu. "Ah, right. Her. Blu. Fae dragon, relatively young from the shape of her scales and head frills. Length one point nine meters, wing span," Prism cocked her head and stared at Blu. "Hard to say for sure without witnessing full extension, but well under one meter. No signs of malnourishment or recent deprivations, so weight is likely between two and two point five kilograms."

Blu's eyes went wide. "That is so cool! How'd you do that?"

"It's simple science. Really anyone should be able to do it, but hatchlings these days are so hesitant to study the relevant scientific principles--"

"Might be because doing so involves things blowing up on them," the Mirror responded with a grin. "Like poor Aventurine. He's still hiding under his invisibility cloak."

"Pish," Prism snorted. "The stained scales will shed eventually. Besides, he wouldn't even have that cloak were it not for my experiments."

Blu moved forward, eyes wide. "You can make invisibility cloaks?"

"Hoo boy," Onyx muttered under his breath, "I'm never going to find out about the explosion now."

Prism beamed at Blu and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, nearly driving the poor fae face first into the dirt. "Of course, I can. I'm Prism Soundstructure, Chief Engineer of the Travels Rest Lair, inventor par excellence, chemist and material scientist without peer. I can make anything--"

"Eventually," Onyx added with a laugh. "With some trial and a lot of error."

Prism flailed one claw in his direction, waving off his comments. "All part of the scientific process. But as I was saying--"

But Blu was too excited to wait. She practically vibrated with eagerness. "Can you make googly eyes?"

Prism stopped and blinked twice slowly. "Googly eyes? I'm the designer of the most advanced aquaduct system this side of Dragonhome, and you want to know if I can make...googly eyes?"

Blu delated. "So that's a no? Because my friend Jesko had them, and I really wanted a pair of my own, and you said you could make anything, but if you can't do it then I guess I'll have to find someone else."

Onyx, who'd moved over to Blu during the exchange, gently wrapped one arm around the fae girl and tugged her back. A wise move as Prism exploded in indignation, arms flung wide and wings puffed out.

"Nonsense!" Prism snapped. "As if anyone else could match my workmanship. If you want googly eyes then googly eyes you shall have." She began pulling odd coils and gears from a pouch on her belt. "I could use copper wire, but that might lead to allergies. Or I could create a permanent piece, there are adhesives that form extremely tight bonds with skin. Or I could take a chemical approach. Alter her physiological structure--"

"And on that note," Onyx said, guiding Blu away, "we're going to take Blu back to the lair where she can get some food and not be turned into some kind of google-eyed mutant. Apparel will be fine, Prism."

"What?" The Bogsneak looked up. "Wait, I need her for the--"

"No." Onyx said, smile still tugging at the corner of his mouth but eyes serious.

"But, I have--"

"No, Prism. Just make some glasses."

The Bogsneak released an exasperated sigh. "Fine." She turned away and buried her head in the cauldron. "I wonder if the goop still in here could be used as glue?"

As they continued walking Blu looked up at Onyx. "She's really going to make me googly eyes?"

"Yes," Onyx chuckled, "she really is."

"This is going to be awesome!" Blu did a little jig as she pumped her fist in the air. "Best day ever!"

"Well," Onyx said as he shook his head with a laugh, "you're going to fit right in. Come, let me show you our home."

Gifts Given: Googly Confusion

Nightkeeper Sanctum (Darkesty)

Blu was flying in the Tangled Wood once more, this time in a different area. The glowing shrooms gave the forest a blue hue, almost as bright as her wings. Had it not been for her sharp eyes, she would have missed the glowing sprites, beckoning her to follow. Follow she did, soon finding an old gate, littered with thorny vines. As she walked through the gate, she felt a shift in the air. The place was filled to the brim with magic, a welcome feeling to a fae like her.

Beyond the gates, a lair was waiting for her. Dragons from different parts of Sornieth were there, as if joined to serve a common cause. Spirals, imperials, pearlcatchers, fae and a few guardians as well had gathered. During her stay, she talked to them and learned some were there to stay until the end of time, while others only for a short period. Some wanted to travel the world, others already had. When the time came for her to leave, she hoped to find another place that was brimming with magic in the air.
