Biography

paperpony___world_tour_by_kiwicide-dciym2z.png

CloudyDay is a shy dragon who likes to cheer up strangers by giving them small gifts of pretty flowers and shiny rocks she finds. She left her clan one day to try to brighten up the world.

Starting Lair: PaperPony's Clan

cheilith's clan

The sea reflected the sunrise so beautifully as she walked across beaches of glittering sand. The sun seemed to look down on her, shining light on a path that she was destined to follow. Admiring the view, she looked out once more to the golden horizon, the feeling of being so far from her clan was terrifying, and yet, exhilarating.

Something in the corner of her eye caught her attention, some sought of glint that shined like a beacon, beckoning her to chase after its reflection. After hastily tossing a couple more shells into her bag, she chased after the light.

The sand seeping between her toes as she ran made her feel like a child again. She took in a deep breath, her heart in rhythm with her steps, and charged forward. Her pace quickened even more, her muscles tightened for what was to follow.

She jumped, but didn't fall.

A crumbled, but welcoming tower slowly came into view as she soared through the air. The icy morning wind bit at her nose and the rush of air almost felt like a storm gale, but she forced her eyes open so they could soak in the golden rolling hills speckled with ruins and redwoods.

The Radiant Eye resides on the eastern seaboard, from what she can remember, and so she landed on the crumbled limestone to plan for her next destination. The sun was just over the horizon now and the beacon allowed her to see everywhere the light touches.

She let herself catch her breath and while doing so, peered inside her bag. The various assortment of shells and stones glinted as they caught the sunlight, as if happy to be taken noticed of the hard work and effort they put into themselves. She did a satisfactory nod before looking out at the ocean.

With a sigh she turned to head inland and continue her journey on her sunlit path.

TorisLaurinaitis' Stargale

Upon reaching the Shifting Expanse, he found the large gate with Ibis sitting there, almost waiting for her. She offered the skydancer a flower with a smile, and Ibis accepted it with a nod before offering the book for her to sign and she did gladly. The interaction was silent and both parties were fine with it.

Nightkeeper Sanctum (Darkesty)

The tundra was flying in the Tangled Wood. The forest held an eerie beauty, with the glowing shrooms and fallen logs. Glowing sprites soon surrounded her, as if asking her to follow. They lead her through an ancient gate, forever stuck open as thorny vines had grown on its surface.

The lair inside was calm and held a serene beauty. Its residents lively, yet not loud. She was approached by a spiral, "Welcome. What's your business here, if I may ask?". CloudyDay thought for a while before answering, "I want to brighten up the world". The spiral seemed amused by this. Even more so, when CloudyDay offered her a pearl as a gift. "I appreciate the gesture, but there's no need. We rarely accepts gifts from outside, but I can turn that pearl into something more lovely for you. Just wait a moment here and I'll be back soon" the spiral had said before disappearing from view.

When the spiral arrived again, she held out a necklace. "Take it," she said, "it looks lovely on you". The tundra contemplated it for a moment, before taking the necklace and putting it on. It truly looked lovely. She didn't stay around for much longer, she had other lairs to visit.

Oceanreach (ChihoriAnigma)

CloudyDay was flying over the trees at the edge of the Starwood Strand. A whiff of blossoms reached her as the sun set into the sea and the day turned into twilight. A group of teenage dragons sprawled on the sandy strip between the Wood and the sea. As she flew past them a bunch of them rose up into the air, trying to catch Fallout Whispers-moths that made your tongue glow when eaten-and sticking out their tongues at each other.

She stuck out her own tongue to catch one, then waved her tail so that some of the glowing blossoms would detach and float towards the beach where they mingled together in the air with the teenage dragons and Fallout Whispers.

Clan Improbable (seige)

CloudyDay winced her way over to a tumbled rock. Her tail throbbed. She could see the swelling and redness through her fur. She sighed and choked back a sob, “Surely, I must find a clan soon that has a mender.” Keeping her tail very stiff, she rose to travel again.

She walked for a few more hours, crying out when she forgot and tried to use her tail for balance. When she spied a cluster of Sweet Potato Vine, she realized she was quite hungry and began to graze. She contemplated that this stupid tail had kept her from her world brightening mission for days.

She was lost in her thoughts when a Skydancer bustled by, “Oh my, you startled me! I daresay I startled you, too. I’m Cheroya, what brings you to the gathering lands of my clan?”

CloudyDay ducked her head and felt her skin redden. She hated talking to strangers. Why couldn’t she just give a gift and go -- because she had no way to carry gifts now. “I - - I’m CloudyDay. I’m traveling.” She wanted to add “to brighten the world”, but thought it would sound silly or like bragging.

Cheroya tilted her head to catch the barely audible whisper. “Why are you holding you tail so stiff? Are you all right?”

“It hurts. My tail, I mean. I need to find a mender.”

Cheroya put her own gathering basket on the ground and clapped her hands. “Aren’t you in luck? I’m a healer and Clan Improbable is just around the bend. Let me have a look before we go on, though.” The Skydancer came around behind CloudyDay and gently began parting gently through the fur. “Oh dear dear dear! You’ve been gathering cactus blossoms, haven’t you?”

“They’re so pretty; they’d be wonderful gifts,” whimpered Cloudy day.

“They are lovely, but you must have the proper protective gear for it. I can’t treat you here, but walking back to the clan will be quite safe enough.” Cheroya picked up her basket and pouch and the two set off.

Back at the lair, Cheroya had a dragon named Koirin start on a Feverfew and Spearmint tea. A Fae called Circee began grinding herbs for a poultice. Another named Vyrek began fluttering around sprinkling dusts and potions from vials. CloudyDay felt the throbbing in her tail begin to recede.

Cheroya placed a tray on a nearby rock. “Is it feeling a little better?”

CloudyDay took the offered cup of tea and took a sip, “Yes, ma’am. A little.”

“Don’t you dare call me ma’am. I’m not that old. I’m glad it’s better. The tea and a poultice should have you right as rain in a twinkling. We’ll have a good gossip while the magic works.”

They talked for a while of all things great and small, worlds and missions, and how the smallest thing could change the largest. As the pain receded more and more CloudyDay drifted into a restful sleep.

The young Tundra opened her eyes and stretched. She gave her tail a cautious twitch. “It doesn’t hurt!” she squealed.

Cheroya ran into the room at the sound. “It worked!”

CloudyDay adjusted her necklace, and her face fell into sadness “Oh, I have no gift for you. The first failure of my mission. I’m sorry. I can’t even pay you for the care.”

“Oh, piffle! Stop talking psywurm droppings. First, this clan accepts no recompense from travelers. We freely share what the Stormcatcher graces us with. Second, a healer who heals for payment is an abomination before the Deities.” Cheroya stroked a tear from the Tundra’s fur, “Besides, don’t you get joy from giving? Then why will you deny others the same pleasure?”

“I. . .I don’t know,” CloudyDay’s brow furrowed in thought.

Cheroya stepped outside and drew in a basket. “This is for you. A satchel, filled with stones and feathers and books, so your mission may continue. Some edible plants for snacks. A tail guard, in case the cactus blossoms tempt you again. Remember a small pebble can cause ripples in a great pool. May the deity of your choosing guard your travels.”

“Thank you,” whispered CloudyDay as she slipped on her satchel and tail guard. “I won’t forget your kindness.”

The Tundra and the Skydancer walked to the compound boundaries. As CloudyDay walked on alone she turned, “And someday, I will get you a gift. So there!” She stuck out her tongue, turned and skipped away.

Gifts received: Food, stones, feathers, trinkets, Gold Aviator Satchel, Lion's Tail Guard.

Olympian garden (Yvainestars clan)

As Cloudy Day walked along the path a Dark colored imperial approached her.
"Hello there what brings you to the olympian gardens?"
CloudyDay "I want to brighten the world." She said shyly
The imperial smiled at her "While most dragons like myself seek to play pranks and tricks.
A kindhearted dragon seeks to make the world brighter. Come visit our clan you may like it there."
Cloudyday spread her wings "I will."
She discovered that this clan was different it had the same dream as her and some of dragos there could actually make it brighter. With magic.
#
The eggs were almost ready to hatch since she had learned of the secret of the olympians gardens everything has changed she was now going to be a mother to two little dragons and they would make the world a better place like they're mother.
Hopefully.
Orchid and Yaretzi the teachers of magic of the clan who mentored young hatchling were off exploring the world to bring back knowledge to hopefully open a school.
Metis was left in charge and was now teaching Freyja, Neptune,Racquel, Telemachus,Qebehsenuef, Nephthys and Leto. perhaps the most students they had ever.
Loki approached her.
"I know you are leaving after our eggs hatch." he said.
Cloudyday nodded sadly "Yes"
He smiled mischievously "They will be powerful and maybe someday conquer cities and lairs and be rulers."
Cloudyday was horrified by this she wanted she hatchlings to spread light were was darkness not ring darkness where there was light!
She flew off and entered to the lairs study.
Cloudyday grabbed the pen and paper on the desk, she held them in her talons has she wondered what to say.

the words came to her.
Dear Yaretzi,

You don't know me exactly we met just before you left ...
I have two beautiful twin eggs ready to enter the world but their Loki may use them for evil.
They are not safe with him and I ask advice how to proceed.

Sincerely,
Cloudyday.
#
Yaretzi delivered a response almost instantly .

Cloudyday,

I remember you and I will help you.
Metis will help go to her and tell her I sent you.

Yaretzi.

Metis had a plan.
"Make two fake eggs out of clay and put them in the nest and bring the real eggs to me."
Cloudyday did that and the eggs were hatched in secret.
The eggs hatched and the world greeted them with a smile.
The twins Sunshine and Valkyrie the joy of there mother.

Changes; given a Leather chest wrap and eggs with Loki(the imperial).

Nightkeeper Sanctum (Darkesty)

CloudyDay had been flying over the Tangled Wood as night fell. She knew she needed a place to spend the night in, so she landed in the forest. She smiled as she saw the familiar looking sprites. They resembled the ones she had previously encountered in the same forest, so she followed them once more.

This time she was greeted more warmly, as they saw no need to question her motives. She joined them at dinner, spending the rest of her evening by talking to the other dragons. They talked about flowers, rocks, pearls and other topics. Not much happened after the dinner, as she went to sleep.

When she woke up, she had breakfast before continuing her journey.

smthelj's lair

CloudyDay was so engrossed in her thoughts that she noticed the signs of a coming storm only when the wind almost tipped her over. Quickly scanning the land underneath her, the Tundra noticed what seemed to be a half-abandoned lair with a male Tundra guarding its entrance.

"Good evening!" she greeted, landing and trotting up closer, "if I could bother you for a moment, would you be so kind as to let me wait out the storm at your-"

"Absolutely not!" the Tundra rounded on her, eyes blazing. "No stealing, no sojourning, no singing, and no arguing with the guard! We don't need your kind around here."

Stunned and somewhat frigtened, CloudyDay backed away from the unreasonable dragon. He huffed and walked off, satisfied. Before she could even fully process the situation, a Tundra with a yellow bow whispered for her and another dragon (where had he come from??) to follow.

She led them down the slope and into a small hidden cave in the cliffside, its size barely enough to house the three dragons. It turned out to be the girl's hiding spot - Titania, she had introduced herself. Looking sheepish about the lack of accomodations, the girl brought out some Glowing Pocket Baubles to serve as their light source. The Tundra male - who turned out to be the world famous travelling musician, RockStar - took out his guitar and tried to lighten up the mood with songs.

CloudyDay laid her head on her front paws and barely held in a sigh. The girl, barely older than a hatchling, painfully reminded her of her own children. Sunshine... Valkyrie... She wondered how they were faring. How could she think of changing the world for the better if she couldn't even be there for her hatchlings? And how naive had she been, trying to do so with pretty rocks and shells??

CloudyDay looked at her companions in the crowded cave, the storm raging outside. Titania gave what little she had to two strangers. And RockStar ignored his fame just to bring them some happiness. How could she compare to that? But... it was just a tiny childish hiding spot and some songs that they gave. And yet in this moment... nothing could be more valuable.

RockStar caught her eye, winked, and launched into a guitar riff. CloudyDay smiled, almost despite herself. Maybe she still could...

When the mirco concert was over, CloudyDay anxiously rolled a few pretty trinkets in her paws. They were all she had to show her gratitude. But despite her misgivings the gifts got a warm reception.

"Wow, they're so pretty!!" the Tundra girl gushed, cradling two citrines in her paws. "I've never seen anything like them!"

"A gift from a fan is always precious to me!" announced RockStar, admiring a pick-shaped shell.

With a significantly lighter heart, CloudyDay chatted with the two until the rain stopped. And when they said goodbyes and time came to set off onto the road once more, she knew: the value of a good deed could not be measured in treasure, but only in its intention and timeliness. Somehow, someway, she would change the world for the better.

Acquired: Renewed conviction.

MittensTheKitten's Clan

It seemed as if she had been wandering for decades. Cloudy Day could no longer feel her legs, and her mind was swirling with thoughts of food and water. So, it was safe to guess that she didn't notice the slumbering Coatl until she promptly tripped over the body. With a yelp, the Tundra went tumbling down to the rough ground with a grunt, whirling around to see the Coatl scrambling to his claws. His plumage was sticking out in different directions, and his tired brown eyes blinked widely at her.

"Oh, I'm sorry for disturbing your sleep!" Cloud Day gushed as she quickly rose and shook the linger dust from her fur. "Are you alright?"

"Fine," he squeaked, a light bit of fear in his eyes. "Who are you?"

"My name is Cloudy Day," she greeted with a kind smile, "what's your name?" The Coatl shuffled his feet as his eyes fluttered rapidly around them. He was rather young, from what she could tell. Vaguely Cloudy Day wondered what he was doing out here.

"Baird," he muttered. "Nice to meet you... I guess. If you're trying to go to Elspeth, I wouldn't bother. Not many dragons can come without invitation." He advised wisely, but Baird still wouldn't meet his gaze. She frowned, the name not ringing any bells, and she turned to glance towards where she had been walking. Sure enough, there was a town in the distance beside the water. She perked up, but then remembered what Baird had said.

"Are you from there?" She asked, glancing back his way. Baird gave a nervous nod, his tail flicking uneasily behind him. "Why are you all the way out here by yourself then?"

"To get away for a little bit, is all... Sleeping out here is nice." Baird grumbled.

"But it's dangerous to be out here all alone," she reprimanded with a huff. "Especially for someone of your age."

"I'm not that young!" He snapped suddenly, glaring up at Cloudy Day. "And you have no right to treat me that way, and neither do they! I can help out too. I don't need a babysitter," he ground out, slamming his claws into the hardened earth. Cloudy Day flinched, her eyes scrutinizing the young dragon. Ah, she saw the problem, and guilt swept over her. She bent down in front of the Coatl, who flinched back from the stranger.

"I'm sorry, I had no right to treat you that way," she apologized. "But you shouldn't be out here by yourself. If you really want to show your friends that you can help around, you definitely shouldn't be dillydallying out here! Go do small things for them, and when they realize how responsible you are, I'm sure they'll give you a job."

"Really?" Baird whispered, excitement sparkling in his eyes. Cloudy Day grinned and offered him an encouraging nod. He quickly gathered up the bag that had been haphazardly thrown to the side during the Coatl's nap, and she was surprised that some dragon hadn't stolen it while he slept. He rummaged through the pack before handing Cloudy Day a napkin of what smelt like food. "Here, you look tired, and they probably won't let you come in." He said unapologetically. "And... Here! I found this a few days ago, but I dunno what to do with it." Baird pulled out a small fillet with a blue stone, and she smiled kindly at him while taking the gifts. Her stomach growled, but she opted to ignore it as her acquaintance prepared to fly off. "It was nice to meet you, Cloudy Day. Be sure to come visit soon!" He waved before taking off, clumsily flying through the sky back to the town. Cloudy Day took a moment to eat the gifts he had provided her and put on the fillet before turning and returning to her journey.

Maybe one day she would return.
