Local Eldritch Horror
A dragon only by looks, this thing acts more like a greater entity's limb. Consciousnesses are the shell of the "brain" of drones, beings beyond dragons that aim to spread all over Sornieth. A nest, comprised of a Consciousness and its drones, is called a Hive. Particularly dangerous to dragons as they can absorb and possess them, it is best to avoid them when one is not ridiculously strong.
Nobody knows where they are from. Nobody knows why Sornieth of all places. All the general public knows is that they appeared out of nowhere, and that it was only the beginning of the trouble they were going to cause. One day, drops of darkness fell like dew from a leaf on Sornieth. Some fell to the sea and diluted in the waves. Some were scattered to the four winds and never seen again. But some fell on the ground, in a propitious place, and festered in the shadows, waiting to gain power. They peer from behind bushes or under rocks, pouncing on the weak and innatentive. It is under the shade of a boulder surrounded by a few birch trees that they first opened their faceted eyes. Their mind ancient, even older than the continent, but their body new, ready to start an infestation. Though the place they landed in -close to the southwesternmost point of the Starfall Isles- was a bit cold. They decided to migrate alone and seek the cover of the Starwood Strand to expand under the safety of the foliage. Everything went as planned, but it seems like somebody noticed their movements and decided to keep an eye on them... They are the danger hidden in the Starwood Strand's beauty that caused the loss of many dragons seeking enlightenment. Thread carefully, your steps are followed. |
