Monarch

“COME ONE COME ALL FOR THE SHOW OF A LIFETIME” but it was not the best show for the hatchling about to perform. His feathers hit the breeze as he began walking the tightrope. He made it halfway and it was time for the show stopper or as the hatchling would call it the heart stopper. The human held a whip to make sure the small hatchling did his best and so he tried. His objective was to jump off the tight rope and jump onto a swinging rope nearby, he then must position himself right under the light so his butterfly-like wings are the center of attention. This was the time the human announced his stage name. “Behold the monarch”. Monarch had done this several times before but this time he slipped on the tightrope. Unfortunately the humans did not think there was need for a net since Monarch is a dragon but Monarch never learned how to fly. He plummeted to the floor and the loud thud echoed. He began to bleed out as the audience was asked to leave. The dragon was left there to die as the human knew Monarch would never be able to do the stunt that was asked of him ever again. Monarch’s body began getting colder and colder as blood pooled around him. But he later felt a warm embrace and woke up wrapped in bandages as a dragon with bone accented wings and a dragon with green goggles talked to each other about how to get Monarch to fly again.
