Under the light of a half-moon, tropical colours flash through the undergrowth. Will you be lucky enough to see a hatchling of the Moonshadow Circus?
As you explore these mysterious grounds, you find a female Wildclaw talking to a Skydancer. Their familiars cautiously watch you approach, eyes glowing in the moonlight. The Wildclaw introduces herself as Asche, and the Skydancer Atayei, founders of Moonshadow Circus. They chuckle at your confused expression, realising that you are just a lost spectator. Pulling out a map, they give you directions and leave you to your search, and as you do, they vanish into the mist.

As you stumble around once more, the glow of some lanterns catches your eye. You feel relieved to finally have found the circus, and you behold the chaotic order of the vendors and their many stalls. Unsure of your location, you walk awkwardly around the venue, taking a look at the large number of dragons that have come to see the show as well as the weird stalls around you (who catalogues mushrooms on their glow?). As it gets closer to the start of the main event, you feel nervous that you may have lost your way, but relax when you see a small pearlcatcher buying lair ornaments - Rhea. When you approach her, she apologises for the lack of good directions (a point you are quite annoyed about) and is about to say more when a clock chimes midnight. |
You follow the example of the others and enter a large theatre with its centre open to the sky. The moon casts its light onto the many mirrors around the clearing, a vast array of stars filling what space the moon had left in the sky. A variety of dragons, from Bogsneaks to Spirals, settle down in the stands facing the centre waiting for the show to start. While finding a seat of your own, you ask Rhea the purpose of the mirrors.
"Saves candle flames," she replies, "Anyways, using the moonlight is the best way to make use of the gift the moon has given us."
When the moon reaches its apex in the sky, the room goes dark. A hush falls over the gathered dragons as a red imperial strolls out into the center, a flaming halo adorning his head.
A soft drum roll plays as the newcomer starts to speak, and whispers can be heard around the venue as his booming voice carries around the vaenue.
"Thank you for coming today to this spectacular show. I know that all of you have travelled here from the four corners of Sornieth just to see it, and trust me, you won't be disappointed."
The imperial continues. "My name is Tryfan, the ringmaster here, and I invite you all to MoonShadow Circus!"
