Scout and Seer

"Sometimes, when Ash is sleeping, if you listen close, you can hear his dreams. Sounds a bit like listening to things moving underwater. Big kinds of things."

Echoes of the Trio
Aeshnidae was born alone in a place that was dark and warm and hidden. The final of three eggs, which hatched as the elemental forces of Wind and Water surged. Ash's siblings were not with him, but even though his red eyes couldn't see anything in the dark, he knew they were somewhere close.

As he grew he came to understand that although they were not physically near to him, they were always closeby. He could hear them and see them. The sight and sound coming as if from a great distance away, and distorted, as if by water. His father told him about them and told him about his mother, a dark queen whom he would never meet.

His sister swam in the deep and distant sea, and his brother sailed through all of the skies above the world, and they each relayed to him great knowledge, though he could not always make sense of it. His father did his best to teach him how to understand them and how to best make use of this ability.

See 'The Echoing Brood' for more details.

Scarwind Keep
There was a clan where Ash was born, but he was never a part of it. He remained among the multitude of fae which infested the rafters and unused reaches of that clan's lair, the Scarwind Keep. They called him "Ash" for his color and because it was somewhat close to his actual name. He never felt as if he were a part of the colony, however. He had a sense that there was some other purpose for him. Something which had and always would set him apart.

This did not mean he never interacted with other dragons. He did. He was distant, but there was a great deal to learn. He learned very quickly that he did not like the Keep. in his dreams, he could see and hear things about the great expanses of the world. Of the Sun and the Sea. Of endless Ocean and Sky. The stronghold on the edge of the Wyrmwound felt small and enclosed.

His father knew that Aeshnidae would leave before long, and he was glad. He was satisfied with his work for Amanita, and the young new fae would find their fate in the years ahead. The wild winds and surging currents which had heralded his arrival were the same which now drove him. Ash turned his red eyes to the Sea of a Thousand Currents.
The Shark's Den
Ash made his way to the sea and crossed paths with a band of pirates in the Tsunami Flatts. Upon meeting the captain, a snarky spiral named Shark, she caught sight of something in his eyes. Something dark and foreboding. Something cursed and unending. She refused to tell anyone what it was, but was visibly shaken up about it. To this day, no one knows exactly what she saw, and she vowed silence to the grave. After seeing it, however, her decision was set. In the confines of he private quarters, before only two witnesses (her father and her mate) she made a pact with Aeshnidae. Whatever his destiny entailed, they would be a part of it.

Since then, he has become known as "The Ghost of Shark's Den" in reference to the seemingly paranormal activities that started up after he moved in, and his tendency to slink around the den in an eerie and almost completely silent manner. Not to mention his coloring and the bright red of his eyes that sometimes can be seen from the shadows he lurks in.

Some of the other pirates have claimed to hear him speaking in tongues to the open ocean some nights, or appearing right before or after some unfortunate dragon has a series of bad luck. No one ever sees him actively doing anything to anyone, though. Despite the whispers and complaints, Shark does not tolerate anyone suggesting his leave from the den, yet offers no other explanation other than the usual "because I say so!"

The only other dragon besides Shark that he's ever spoke to is Thessalonike, the navigator/2nd mate. Thessa has a kind of connection to supernatural forces, like Ash, and so they have a kind of understanding between them that may well be the closest bond to anyone that he's ever had, besides his long lost sister and brother.

A Brief Overview of the Naomi Incident

The Naomi Incident refers to an occurrence in January of 2016. A glitch occurred that caused the standard site couriers to be replaced by Naomi, a single fae dragon within an inactive lair. (At the time, all AH goods were delivered via the message system by a set of NPC dragons.) This affected all messages normally sent by these NPC across the site.

So, she started popping up all over. When investigated by clicking on her name it would direct you to her page where her ID was #0. The user's lair had a dragon count far exceeding any number of dragons possible, even though she was the only dragon visible in her lair. Most believed that the number was of exalted dragons and her account had become a data drop for exalted dragons.

She gained a cult following and is considered by some players a part of the lore of FR and the setting. Adding to this was also the fact she was an arcane dragon, and the arcane flight is known for dealing in strange magics and often throw caution to the wind in their pursuit of knowledge which strengthened the idea of a corrupted arcane dragon glitching out the website.

She had several children, which were all exalted, save one: Willow. It is through Willow that Naomi's bloodline is available to the general player base. The owner of Willow is extremely protective of them, and as of writing, no longer breeds them.

For most Naomi's descendants are a symbol and part of wanting to keep the story alive, as well as having a dragon related to the fae dragon who caused so much chaos. Some might seek them out for lore reasons, or as a collector's oddity.
