Born and raised in the Scarred Wasteland, Baxter has a natural talent for Plague magic, so much so that he was determined to join the priesthood and pass the Necromatic trials from an early age. When the time came he did so with flying colors, and for a while, everything was good. He worked in the big city, met an amazing assistant, and had all the virulent diseases he could ever want to study right at his fingertips. It was great, but...boring. Absolutely boring. It was all too easy, too much of the same. After confiding in Fen, the pair ultimately decided that a new start might be best and move to Shining Lake. While his initial impression of the place was that it was not quite the same as the fleshy, pulsating landscape he had known all his life, Baxter now finds that he has a stronger connection to the Plaguebringer than he ever did back home. Her teachings, survival, are evident everywhere one cares to look. Through Fen he has learned that this even extends into their children, for even when they're gone they will still survive through them. Meanwhile, it is quite clear to him that the townsfolk's own god has abandoned them. Baxter can be sentimental, though he doesn't see it as a weakness. He is also very intelligent and an able doctor; he does not fault those who are not able to withstand Mother's gifts. If asked for help, he will give it. Unfortunately he is still stigmatized as a newcomer in a small place, but the offer is always there. |
