xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxHer History The sudden death of her father is what pushed Isolda into following her mother's footsteps as a Nightingale combat healer. The two them had been extremely close and the grief she felt after losing him, motivated Isolda in her studies. It drove her to study hard and to spend every moment of free time furthering her knowledge. Down the line any gaps in her skills and ability could be the deciding factor between if she could save someone or not, and the very idea of letting someone else experience the same heartbreaking sadness she did, haunted Isolda. One of her greatest fears. There was a softness to Isolda, an inviting warmth, and she touched everything with love and care. The delicate and the vulnerable were safe under her tender guidance. There was no patient she would deny, no lengths she wouldn't go to to heal and protect. Isolda took her oath seriously, treated it as absolute law when it came to her decisions.
Into whatsoever houses I enter,
I will enter to help the sick, and I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm--- But she is stubborn, unwilling to back down when it came to facing those stronger than her who designed to target the weak. Isolda always put herself between the threats and her current ward; if only to give them another day to live. xxxxxxxxxJoining The Caravan She, like many others, had found her way to Hirwen's Caravan by chance. She had lost a fight against an evil monster, who had taken her magic as a token of their victory, leaving her gravely injured and unable to heal herself. Who had then left her to slowly die by her wounds, a terrible fate if the Caravan scouts hadn't caught wind of her scent. They had taken her to the healers to be nursed back to health. Near death, Isolda was nursed back to health by the Caravan's best healers Apophis and the Nightmother. Even with their abilities and knowledge, It taken them a week to fully heal her wounds. They had to be cautious and act slowly as her wounds reacted badly every time they cast a healing spell on her; the sign of a deep and powerful curse. Their alignment with the darker magics meant the brunt of the curse didn't affect them unlike poor Isolda in her weakened state. The two of them brushed aside the heavy intent to harm in the curse easily as they worked to undo it's effects. They even resorted to having to pay for a doctor to come and stitch Isolda up in the end. Both of them resented having to rely on outside help; Apophis knew Hirwen disliked having to outsource for help because of cost, and the Nightmother was immensely prideful and detested needed assistance. xxxxxxxxxAdapt or Perish (WIP) she came to clan to learn non-magical healing techniques from jack and ophan (maybe one of them or one of their students was the doctor who helped Hirwen & Nightmother). the skin reflects change in colors due to loosing her healing abilities and no longer being able to perform as a combat medic, thus no longer "qualifying" as a Nightingale. why fae? she works with the clan's hunters and scavengers to provide emergency first aid when necessary, without magic she can no longer keep up with the demands of battle, but is learning new ways to apply her trade in the field. |
