My first stop (not entirely of my choice) was a Wind Flight clan near the edge of Windsinger's territory, overlooking the ocean. You could almost see the Southern Icefield.

I was searching for a Wind temple, something from one of the books I've read. It was described as being, one of the most beautiful sights Karacoris has ever seen. It was a calming light green color, minty and fresh. It sparkled in the sunlight, like a beacon of hope for those who could see it. The scent of the sea stained the air, the splashing waves soothing a wonderer's soul. The flag of Wind fluttered in the gentle breeze, so very ironic in the best way. The view of the water was so clear you could see to the bottom, watching the fish swim by, so unbothered. The dragons here were inviting and a refreshing bunch, a collective of differences yet living in harmony. This, was paradise. Karacoris was sure of it.

Karacoris was my favourite heroine of all time, so it only made sense for me to take a trip to the place she rebuilt herself after the Battle Of Sky and Fire, where she nearly died. Maybe starting here would be good for me.

This clan had the most opportune view of the ocean; granted it wasn't so clear you could see to the bottom, but as the sun set you could see the peak of a mountain in the Southern Icefield. This was the place.

It seemed rather large, this clan's territory. But as I encountered the front (I assume) things went from okay to confusing.

An arrow thunked itself before me, nearly cutting my whisker. "State your name and business with Bloodfang!" A harsh voice said to me.

Bloodfang? Is this an enemy clan?! Will they kill me?!

"I-I simply wish to see your area. I have read in a book, in a place that reads as if it's right here, of a mint green temple where the great warrior Karacoris healed herself." I hoped he wouldn't ask any questions of who Karacoris was.

"Great warrior Karacoris? Healed herself here? Sounds like folly to me," the voice responded.

I don't know how to handle this! How do I convince him?! "I have come here to heal my soul, as she did. At the green temple."

"There is no green temple here. Never has been. Now show me your neck."

"TARI!" A female voice called. "Let her in."

"UGH."

I was confused, but the small gate I was in front of opened. A female Skydancer met me. "Skyway wants to meet you."

I didn't know who that was, but I wasn't going to miss this opportunity.

I walked forward, keeping my pearl close to my chest. After cresting a small hill, I was met with a blue Guardian. "Karacoris, huh?" She says with a twitch of her mouth. "I heard she was a great warrior."

I nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! The best."

She walked up to me, calm and even-footed. "Bend your head."

I clutched my pearl. Then took a deep breath, then did as she requested.

"Ow!" I said as a sharp, short pain thudded my skull.

"I do believe you are healed. Did Karacoris not gain the Wind symbol upod her head after she was healed?" Her mouth had something like a smile. "May your journey end gracefully, Pearlcatcher!" She said as she turned around and walked away.

Before I could register what happened, I was being escorted out of the claimed territory. "You're welcome back anytime," the female Skydancer said to me. "I loved the Karacoris story," she called as the small gate closed behind me.

LadyChipmunk's Travels Rest

Freya traveled for a time, trying her hand at living off the land and seeking adventures. While resting in the warm sands of a desolate place she happened to overhear a small group of dragons talking.

"There be booty in these mountains somewhere, I tell ye."

Freya poked her head carefully from the sand and saw four coatls, all with long coats and eyepatches. Three girls, it looked like, and one boy.

"Angularis," a pretty shimmering girl and white and gold said to the boy, "you don't have to talk like that."

"But, we be pirates, matey. This be our way."

Another of the coatl girls, this one purple and blue, rubbed her eyes with one gloved claws. "We're in a desert. We have no ship. We can't even find our stupid parrot. Maybe, just maybe we can hold off on the fighting for now get to the looting and plundering?"

The last coatl, all white with black and red clothes, said nothing. She just pointed. Right at Freya.

All four turned in unison, and their eyes locked on her. Trembling, not even sure herself if with fear or excitement, Freya stood. "Hi, are you really pirates?"

"We are," the blue coatl said as she stepped forward, slightly in front of the others. "I'm Siva. Who are you?"

"Freya. I've read all the stories about the legendary pirates. The travels of the Imperial Brigade of the Black Flag, the Pearlcatcher Pirate Queen, the--"

"Yes, yes. In this reading, did you happen to come across descriptions of where they buried their treasure?"

Freya's eyes widened. "I have a map! From an old journal I found. It's kind of faded, and the--"

"Right." Siva came over and wrapped an arm around Freya's shoulders. "Tell you what, why don't you show us this map, and you can come along on our hunt."

"Really? Will you teach me how to swing a cutlass or...or hoist a sail?"

The pink, shimmery coatl chuckled. "You know, lass, I like you. We don't have a handy sail on hand, but sword work, sure. That I can teach you. Assuming that's okay with you, Captain?"

"Mist," Siva said, "it's like you read my mind. " She grinned at Freya. "Okay, then, my new deckhand, show us that there map."

Freya woke with a headache. The last few weeks were a blur. She didn't remember if the pirate crew had found any gold, but there had been a whole lot of sea shanties, battles, and tall tales. It was an amazing time.

But, now, Freya knew it was over. Some big, scary, scarred Nocturne had shown up the night before and dragged the coatls away. He didn't notice Freya, and she didn't do anything to change that.

So, now, now it was time to find herself another adventure.
