Dragon Log:

He came from another Arcane lair, out of a desire for a place with more room. Here he found friends aplenty, and lots of wonderful magical energy to explore. At the moment, he is vacillating between naming himself after a great Mage, or taking on a more literal name, such as "Magedust." He is only a hatchling, however, so he has time to think about it. After all, he hasn't even decided what he'll do with himself yet!

6-30-14: He has grown into a magnificent dragon, and will, of course, have to have a magnificent name to match. Hmmm....Merlin certainly has possibilities...

9-22-14: Wise and learned in many things, he has figured out his place among the clan: like the mage he is named for, he is the advisor and teacher of the lair. He is also the one to turn to if it looks like an experiment is getting out of hand... large dragons are much better at putting out fires than smaller ones, after all.

He is an Astrologer par excellence--or at least, he thinks he is. At any rate, when he is not quieting down magical problems or advising the young of the Clan, Merlin can be found perusing his scrolls and working on equations that only he can understand....

It is a good thing he has come to the realization of his place in the Clan, because his life is about to take another turn: His Hainu companion has Awakened, and is eager to explore the lair. Merlin is happy for his friend, though he has cautioned the Hainu to be wary of the Spiral and Pearlcatcher sections of the lair... you never know what kind of energy might be flying around there!

9-24-14: The Hainu has gone exploring... and Merlin has attracted a Rainbow Sprite into his section of the cave. Perhaps it's his calm demeanor, or maybe his similar coloring, but whatever the reason, this Sprite does not seem as upset or antagonistic as usual....

11-26-14: Against his better judgement, Merlin was persuaded to accompany the 10 dragons that journeyed to the Rockbreaker's Ceremony with the Clan Mother this year. he had intended to stay in camp and study his Astrological charts, but a run-in with an extremely persuasive Runemaster--who wanted to know whether or not brute strength would have any impact on breaking rocks, and was also playing with focus magic again at the same time--persuaded him otherwise, and then a brush with Spellweaver convinced him that perhaps he should stay away from camp for a while... ( , )

11-27-14: Unfortunately, Merlin was not able to keep his Digging Prize away from Spell for very long, and the Clan consequently suffered a rather bad explosion as a result. Hopefully Duskshadow will be able to clean up the mess...and won't realize who gave Spellweaver and Runemaster the Earth Runestone in the first place...

...In the meantime, Merlin might just stay away from camp for a little loger, until things, er, calm down...and perhaps he will look for that Rock Smashing Game Rune had asked him to check out… ( )

11-29-14—11-30-14: There was a bit of trouble with the rocks, as Singmolli was quite swamped, but with a little help from the Clan Mother it was sorted out... ( ) … and Merlin found a wonderful new Scroll Case in his rock! ( , ) And so Merlin now has something to at least begin an attempt to organize his charts, and even better, it looks like Duskshadow is still completely unaware that he provided the Runestone that almost leveled the camp. A good Festival indeed!

12-22-14: The Rainbow Sprite has Awakened! Merlin is pleased, and the Sprite is now much more vibrant than before. It does not seem to have improved his temper, however...

2-11-15: Merlin has found an interesting accessory for himself in the hoard. It's not a torque, but the Ornate Darksteel Necklace still does an excellent job...

8-5-16: One of the largest and most majestic of the dragons of the Clan should really have the largest and most majestic familiar.... well, at least the largest. The Roc that visited from a distant area of Sornieth certainly seems to approve of this reasoning. Merlin is still not sure what to name her, but is extremely proud that she chose him as her companion....

12-17-16: After a nice relaxing "childhood," the Roc has finally Awakened! Merlin is quite satisfied with his friend's advancement, and pleased that she has finally matured to the point that they can have meaningful conversations. Now if only he could think of a name for her....

10-1-18: Merlin thought that he would avoid the latest rash of oddities in the Clan, but magic itself seems to have had different ideas, as the proud Imperial woke from his afternoon nap to discover that he is now sporting a Spellwrought Halo. Well, he IS a very powerful sorcerer, and an extremely advanced astrologer, after all. Merlin isn't too displeased, as he thinks that it makes him look quite distinguished....
