Drone carapaces aren't flimsy, not to my knowledge. Sometimes, though, the unlikely happens, and when the carapace takes damage, it doesn't bleed a little and heal up - it cracks wide open, peeling back to reveal taut muscles and veins, which bulge out of the tight-fitting holes in a rather unpleasant manner.
This drone was on patrol in the farther reaches of the territory when it was ambushed by a predator of some kind. It survived, evidently, but it appears that it is no longer recipient to the consciousness's commands. It wanders, alone - still intact, but broken - through twisting hallways of vine.

- Before the assimilation, BROKEN was a peaceful Skydancer, living on his own. He had his own hut and often tended to the massive garden behind and around his home. The smell and sight of flowers brings him comfort.
- His favorite flower was a pansy.
- Speaking of pansy, he was quite skittish of everything and everyone, which is why he chose to live a life alone and away from the very busy Skydancer villages - not that it bothered him.
- His house was forcefully ransacked when he was assimilated; himself, his food, and anything that could be converted into more food (primarily flowers) was taken into the hive. He fainted several times along the journey out of pure panic.
- After injury from a wild familiar, he wanders around the territory without doing much. His faltering connection to the wavelength is enough to keep him alive and preserving himself, but he does precious little else.
