Her parents decided that the traveling lifestyle they have, isn't suited to a child barely able to stand straight and thus asked their friend to look after her. They returned every other month, looking after their daughter, telling her stories about far away lands they visited and adventures they had, about myths they collected and ancient treasures they found, and bringing her gifts they had collected. She found spider-themed ones to be her favourite and she still has a Peacock Spider as a pet.

Childish little things as she later said, though she still kept them, to keep the peace she would say when asked. It was partly true, she never felt her "real" parents were actually that, they were just some distant aunt and uncle, her parents were Aurelia and Otis. The odd pair cared for her, nutured her, educated and trained her as a tea master and appraiser for rare items. They were everything her parents were not, but for most they were there for her. Still she couldn't hold it against her parents, after all she hadn't had a bad childhood, she would say it was a very good one even, and she thought as a child it was nice to have four parents instead of just two like the rest. It wasn't until later that she found out that that wasn't normal, but again she couldn't hold it against them. She had a good childhood.
