He wanders the woods around the lair protecting those that reside in them or just passing through them.

He's never seen though unless there's a fight/someone is getting robbed.

You could say he's the king of the spirits that inhabit the woods, they all listen to him without question.

When he finds someone who has done wrong for the wrong reasons like greed he knocks them out and leaves them tangled in vines where authorities can see, or he puts them on the path of those they wronged and makes them give back stuff/apologize.

If they're stealing to make ends meet/feed their family he'll give them a break and teach them ways to earn money the right way, some even become guards for roving caravans of the very same merchants they were robbing!

Some also choose to reform and go into politics to help make things better for the ordinary dergs, very few actually go back to/continue their life of crime.

Despite his ominous name he has never really hurt a soul- King refuses to kill.
