Biography

her name is Miracle because she hopes to bring love and miracles into other dragons lives

Starting lair: Yvainestar5

smthelj's lair

The sky was dappled with soft clouds, the wind was blowing just right, and Miracle would be having a great time... if not for her worrywart companion.

"I'm not sure this is a good idea, Miracle," Freyja, the Tundra from her home lair said. "Couldn't we have climbed one of the giant pinwheels and caught a favourable air current from there?"

Miracle rolled her eyes. Honestly, her friend had read too many scary books.

"Oh, give it a rest already! There are no monsters here. And even if there were, it's just Woodland Path, how bad could they-"

Suddenly, what had looked like a tangle of roots and vines reared up its huge serpentine head and hissed at them.

Miracle backed away carefully, half-listening to Freyja's rambling beside her. Snakes only saw sudden movements... right? Or maybe they could befriend it instead?

But before the two could enact Miracle's ideas, a large dark form swooped down from the skies and dealt with the monsterous snake in just a few strikes.

The black Guardian then turned to them and said, "You don't look like experienced hunters. Why are you out here on your own?"

Miracle stepped forward and explained, "We're travellers! Going up the Reedcleft Ascent to catch a good current seemed like a good idea to me, but..." she shot a guilty look towards Freyja and reluctantly admitted, "it seems that we were a tad bit unprepared."

The Guardian seemed to consider something, hummed and said, "Well, it would be a waste of time to go all the way back. I can lead you through the forest."

"But we're not warriors!" Freyja fretfully butted in. "I don't know if I can even fight..."

"And you won't have to," the Guardian promised. "I'll do the fighting, you just keep to the back and watch out for sneak attacks."

And so they agreed to let the black dragon - who they learned was called Nyx - be their bodyguard. But Miracle couldn't let their new friend do all the work! The desire to help mixed with her inborn magic and manifested as a powerful healing energy.

Almost every new monster encounter Miracle tried to start with an attempt to befriend the creatures. Her attempts either failed or were stopped by the other two, until they came across one particular Wildwood Owl. The green bird carefully considered the food Miracle offered it, and then gently picked it from her palm. To the Skydancer's delight, the beast continued to follow her through the woods and then beyond.

When the trees abruptly ended and a beautiful view of the Sea of a Thousand Currents opened before them, the three girls realised it was time to part ways. Nyx brushed off their gratitudes and said that fighting was a joy for her. Freyja just looked happy that everything was finally over. The trio spread their wings and lifted up into the skies one by one, hoping to find the wind that would carry them to their destiny.

Waverider's Clan (Bronzewing, 319633):
After following the winds for a while, Miracle ended up in a completely different area of the Wind Flight. She had never been here before- and her owl didn't seem to have been there either, as it was looking around confused. She let it climb up onto her, and it rested between her wings. She was over the Reedcleft Ascent when she saw what looked like a clan of dragons below her. She flew down, seeing if she could be of any help- or if there would be any more animals she could befriend. She landed on what seemed to be the edge of the clan's camp, politely waiting there to see if she would be invited in or turned away.

It wasn't much longer when a blue Spiral seemed to notice her, and walked up to her. "Hey!" he said, seeming friendly. "I haven't seen you around here, have I? Are you lost? Do you need something?" he asked, looking into her eyes. He didn't seem as energetic as other Spirals; he seemed much calmer (mostly since he wasn't jumping up into the sky all the time). "I'm not lost!" Miracle said, smiling at him. "I'm just following the winds. But if I can be of help here, I'm glad to do what I can!" The Spiral nodded, then noticed her owl. "I don't think we've introduced ourselves yet. I'm Waverider, leader of...the clan. You?" Miracle told the Spiral her name, and also introduced her owl. "You like familiars?" he asked, pointing to the owl. "Our clan familiar-keeper may need some help, if you're up for that. There's a whole bunch of them." Miracle was definitely up for it, so Waverider led her to a small building.

Inside there were a whole bunch of familiars- owls to snakes, small ones to large ones- and one fae on a pedestal in the middle of them. The fae seemed to be having a conversation with a storm seeker, who looked like he was speaking back. "There's a dragon here to give you some help for a while." Waverider said, letting Miracle enter the room. A curious snow streak walked up to her, looking her over. The snow streak then turned to the fae, and called to him. "Huh? What is it?" he said, finally noticing the Skydancer. "Oh, hey!" he said, and flew down to her. He wasn't that much smaller than her; he was a pretty big fae. "I...uh...guess you can help out? Maybe just check on them and see if anything's wrong." Miracle agreed and walked around the room, admiring all the different creatures and petting ones that let her come close. She fed some miths and a glowing pocket mouse, fixed up the bedding for a bramble guardian, and did whatever she could to help out the animals.

She stayed there for most of the day- after the main tasks were done, the fae- who introduced himself as N Harmonia- told her things about all the familiars and let her owl fly around and socialize a little. It was much later when she noticed it was getting dark out, and prepared to leave. She got her owl back, and said goodbye to N and Waverider. "Nyciia's our art dragon. She's out right now, so you may not be able to get artwork today- sorry for that." Waverider said, shrugging. "What do you mean, 'I'm still out'?" a dragon said, and a spiral flew down out of the sky. "I got back just in time, huh? Blackfire, here's your drawing. New dragon- you're a traveler, right? Do you have some time to stay?" "Yeah, I have time!" Miracle said with a smile. This must be Nyciia. Nyciia handed a dark colored Nocturne a piece of parchment, and turned to Miracle. "Alright, just let me get some paper..."

It was a few minutes later when Nyciia finished the drawing, and she folded it up and handed it to Miracle. "Here you are! Good luck on your journey!" Miracle thanked her and the other dragons a second time, and set off again into the air. She found a nice wind current and relaxed, her familiar following. It was time to follow the winds again, and she didn't know where she would end up this time.

Clan Improbable (seige)

Miracle had flown as far as she could. The heat rising in shimmering waves from the Ashfall Waste had sucked every bit of energy from her wings. She touched down to walk for a while and came upon a vibrant green Wildclaw shepherding a group of hatchies of all breeds and colors.

“Stay in pairs. I know I left with twenty of you; I have to get back with twen -- oh, hello!” the Wildclaw called when she spied Miracle.

Miracle smiled at the spectacle, “Hello, I’m Miracle. I’m traveling.” She waved a wingtip at the bevy of youngsters, “”A mother’s work is never done?”

“I’m Megami of Clan Improbable. You’re welcome to come back to the lair with us, but I’ve got to get this lot back “

“I’d love to help. Miracle leaped to the head of the line and faced the youngsters. “Let’s have a contest! I want to see who can be the best soldier. Miss Megami will be the judge. Perfect posture. No giggling or poking at each other in line. We’re going to be like the big dragons. Are you ready?”

The hatchies gave a raucous cheer.

Miracle nodded to Megami, at the rear of the group. She picked up a fallen branch and held it like a baton. “Then off we go. Call out directions, Miss Megami and watch for who the best soldier is. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand

Left, left, left, right, left -- everybody”

“Stay on the path and you’re heading the right way,” Megami called.

“Left, left, left, right, left.” the group chanted as they marched -- as smartly as a group of hatchies could be expected to march -- toward home.

The Wildwood Owl did loops and rolls in the sky above them.

---

The bustle in the center compound of Clan Improbable stopped as the formation marched in chanting. “Halt!” Miracle said and the whole group dissolved into giggles and bickering over who was the best at soldiering.

Megami clapped her hand and quickly counted heads,, “Twenty! Good soldiers, all of you! Now go get tidied up in time for dinner.” The hatchies made a beeline toward a beckoning Pearlcatcher.

Megami approached the Skydancer, “Thank you, it would have taken me twice as long to get them back here and maybe the y burned up a little nervous energy. Miracle is certainly the right name for you. Getting those heathens to stay in line and like it . . . “

Owl landed at the Skydancer’s feet.. Miracle blushed, she really didn’t like to hear praise about herself. “It was nothing, I like to help. Who are those hatchlings?”

Megami laughed, “My punishment for wicked deeds done in a past life? Seriously, we give young ones a safe place to decide if they want to serve a Deity or find a home. While they are deciding we teach them foraging and others skills they’ll need if they choose not to serve.”

Miracle smiled, “That’s far more miraculous than getting them to march in formation. I chose to travel to give hope and make a difference. You do it by staying here. I am humbled before your service to these youngsters.”

“It’s just a way to give back. Will you take your evening meal with us? As a traveler, you must have stories; perhaps we can talk you into sharing.”

Miracle and Owl stayed and dined and sang and told stories late into the night.
