Despite how close the twins are, they do not get to spend much time together. Orestes often stays with Clan Abyss for extended amounts of time so that he can improve his own skills in combat. He visits the rest of his family with Clan Umbra whenever he can, although he understands that Cassiel has his own duties to carry out within the Umbral Coven, and it is just a part of his brother's life that must be withheld from him.

Orestes and his brother Cassiel are among the youngest set of twins. Where his brother was fond of reading and studying, Orestes took up violence and brawling. The two could not be any more opposite, yet they are the closest out of all of the siblings. Orestes did not inherit Peyton's magic like Cassiel did, who was already an extremely powerful witch in his own right. Having only wanted to spend more time with Cassiel, he spoke to his brother in confidence about this disappointment in himself, and in their youth Cassiel imbued a segment of his own magical reserves into Orestes's hide, carving and imprinting the magic in the form of runes. Orestes now possesses a strange mix of physical and magical combat, where he embeds his runic magic behind every blow he delivers. It is a gift from Cassiel that he cherishes more than anything. |

Orestes may not be as brutal or ruthless as the rest of his siblings, but he is certainly unique in his own way. Despite his best efforts, his father denies him a place among the Gladiators of Clan Abyss and tends to overlook him at the most inopportune moments, making him feel underappreciated and useless. Truthfully, this is Urban's way of protecting him, though he cannot bring himself to admit this to his son. However, the exact opposite can be said about his mother- out of all of their children, Orestes and Cassiel seem to garner the most attention from Peyton, who is known from time to time to "baby" the twins.
