Persephone, Daughter of Demeter, Queen of the Underworld.
Stolen away by Hades to live among the dead and the undead, bound to the land for six months of the year. Her mother grieves her loss in chilly autumn and desolate winter, and celebrates her return with the bounty of spring and vitality of summer.
She is not of the World Above, nor entirely of the World Below, always separate from the rest.
The Underworld isn't such a bad place, really. It holds secrets and mysteries that very few ever see, its fields and rivers are powerful and glorious, and even in the darkest shadow, there is always light.
Could she choose between Above or Below if she had to, if she could? What if her transient nature is the only way she can truly be alive?
