Total impulse purchase but oh my GOSH is she the PERFECT mate for Riane. Purchased for 50 gems on 7/30/19.
Salem was born a pure obsidian/gold speckled dragon, without a hint of any other color. She was always popular because of her good looks and her natural charm. However, once she began to enter young adulthood, something began to change. She noticed that small splotches of white had begun to appear in her downy coat.
At first, Salem ignorer the spots- believing they were just caused by natural molting, or that she had spilled something on herself that bleached her feathers. But, the small white specks began to grow.
And they kept growing.
Embarrassed, Salem tried to hide the specks, but as they began to completely cover her body, it became too hard to hide. When other dragons discovered her condition, many grew fearful of her, believing she was cursed or diseased.
The truth was, Salem had been born with Vitiligo, a harmless condition that was slowly depigmenting her feathers. Still, while Salem now knows her condition is harmless, she still carries some level of embarrassment over it and is upset when it frightens other dragons away from her.
