Bearing the colours of both night and day, and seemingly touched by an unknown magic that patterned her skin with swirls of gold, Firefly was marked out as special even as a hatchling. She was raised alongside her two brothers in a shallow cave in the Crystalspine Reaches, but when her family went to serve the Arcane God she remained behind, roaming his wild magical realm and soaking in the Arcane magicks. Unlike many of her Arcane brethren, however, her mind remained calm and stable. She lacks the chaotic energy possessed by many of her elemental kin, though certainly none of their power.

Firefly met Chaos and became a part of her fledgling clan while the Arcane Mirror still roamed her ancestral lands. Though the two dragons are not close they respect each other's unique skills. Chaos, as wild and unpredictable as any Arcane dragon might be expected to become, a ferocious melee warrior. Firefly, though, was a powerful mage. Her command of the arcane energy is formidable and her calm self-possession gives her a level of precision and control to be envied. She may lack some of the brilliance and flair of her more chaotic fellows, but often this translates into a reliability that has proven useful in the clan's battles. Furthermore, though her arcane abilities are strong, she has further specialised in the healing arts, and is currently the only dragon in the clan capable of providing this service to the soldiers.

It was her healing magic that led to her finding a mate, too - a later addition to the clan, a Spiral known as Chernobyl. The Alchemist is afflicted with radioactivity that would kill most dragons who draw to close, but Firefly's constant healing of herself has enabled their mating, and even the survival of most of their offspring. Chernobyl is a valued weapon to Chaos, but Firefly knows his gentler side, his naturally gregarious personality tempered so effectively but the alchemical experiments that rendered him a loner.

Within the clan Firefly is too quiet and reserved to be among the most popular of dragons, but she is well-liked and respected. She is a considered voice for the Arcane-aligned in the clan, proud of her heritage and alignment but careful not to abuse the fact that the clan matriarch is Arcane aligned. She was the obvious choice for Arcane Ambassador and, like the other ambassadors, makes regular pilgrimages to her old homeland to keep abreast of goings-on there.
