He enjoys reading her many informative scrolls and listening to her tangents about the world around them. Bakunawa is a bit naive in regards to social cues therefore, Tenebris's ill-mannered comments about his ignorance don't fully process - meaning Tenebris can't shake him off or get rid of him yet admiring his potential in navigation and readiness to learn

B I O G R A P H Y

Transferred in by the Sun Praise Clan , Bakunawa's background is fairly unknown and - more than likely - will stay a mystery as Bakunawa himself can't remember much either. During the first few days of his stay, Bakunawa had a somewhat difficult time adjusting to the scarred wasteland territory, falling sick constantly - much to the annoyance of the healers - and being deemed as 'weak' by the more stronger members of the clan.

Years after transferring, Bakunawa managed to grow a tolerance to the scarred wasteland, though occasionally falling ill, it's no longer fatal or extremely dangerous. He has grown closer to all the members of the clan, however, still holds grudges and grievances towards a few. During these years, Bakunawa has become more and more engrossed about the different lands and territories around him, his extensive reading, research and help from Tenebris has helped Bakunawa become a navigator for the clan, helping them find resources faster or assisting when one becomes lost within the tricky landscape. Although occassionally impulsive and unwilling to admit to mistakes, Bakunawa is the best at what he does, gathering more respect and appreciation from other members.

The crash of the waves

▸ Hyzenthlay : Constant power struggle between Hyzenthlay and Bakunawa; Hyzenthlay is seen as a leader by others as she has been with the group longest, capable of utilizing the group's talents effectively, and knows her way around a fight; Bakunawa wishes to have this admiration by the others but with a damaged reputation due to his struggle with adapting to the wasteland, he has a long way to go.

▸ Woundworth :Although Bakunawa respects Woundworth for his strength, He strongly dislikes his aggressive and violent nature. Bakunawa's tamer, more friendly nature prefers a civil interaction, with heavily clashes against Woundworths 'shoot first ask questions later' personality.

The Myth Behind the Namesake

Bakunawa is a Filipino mythical sea creature, who is believed to be the cause of eclipses, earthquakes, rains, and wind. At one point, this creature's movements through the world were the basis of the babaylan geomantic calendar system.

Usually depicted as a serpent-like dragon with a looped tail, Bakunawa was believed by various groups to either inhabit the sea, sky, or underworld. According to the myths, this dragon is known to be captivated by beauty and music.
