______ Skodaka was not the only one of her siblings to be revived upon disturbance. Far to the north on the main continent, a desert lies largely ignored by dragonkind. It is home to beastclans, primarily those of centaurs who hold ancestry of that region. Long ago Rameses, lost and out of supplies, wandered into their land. After a miscommunication they came to teach each other about their cultures and grew close. He felt at home whilst shielding his power from them, attempting to live a normal life in their midst. However, peace could only last so long. After an attack on the village Rameses used his powers to wipe out the invading army. He used too much and fell into a deep sleep where he stood.

______ Rameses was given a proper burial, clothed in the richest silk and jewelry the village possessed, wishing him happiness should be wake. He did not, for hundreds of years. His magic held him together, but it could not prolong his life as it seeped from him. Growing weaker over the century he slumbered, Rameses finally fell into his permanent slumber. Death took him slowly, but it was not painful.

______ As the sand buried their friend, the village's descendants began to call Rameses a legend. The magic that had seeped out of Rameses' body formed an oasis. Those who used its water as a vital source of life took only what they needed. A legend form of the dragon who lived below the oasis, the one that wold drag you below if you swam in his waters. It scared many away from the attempt, but eventually someone tempts fate. Someone dared to swim in the oasis, and bubbles began to pool on the surface. Rameses awoke, shooting through the water and climbing out of it like a god reborn.

______ Now awake, Rameses was in a panic. He had no memory of his past life or what had awakened him, just that he was awake. The village pleaded with him to calm, and their language, familiar to his ears, pacified him. He laid down, allowing them to communicate with him. Rameses was well preserved and mostly intact, his mind and body functioning just enough to keep him alive. He could no longer control his magic, it seeped from his body and did as it wished. The village has adopted him, his legends becoming truth. They honor him as a friend of their people, and in return Rameses remains and watches over them.
