—Glacier, to Astore |
「Glacier’s Abilities」 Glacier has lived a long life that he proudly calls himself a master potionist. He focuses primarily in brewing toxic concoction for offensive and defensive usages, from slow-acting poisons to potions that numbs and kills larger dragons than him in a single sip. Though his mastery lies in poison-making, he can certainly make potions that benefit others such as healing tonics and medicinal brews for the sick and ailing. For the fun of it, he also picked up more light-hearted ones courtesy of his daughter such as gag potions such as temporarily making someone an animal, or making them hiccup iridescent-colored bubbles. Before Glacier can use up any magical attacks, he has to use a skill called Meditate. This skill allows him to gather Breath (Basically mana) but lessens his physical damage output for 2 turns (Add a temporary modifier of -4 to Glacier’s physical attack rolls). When Meditate is used consecutively, the amount of Breath gathered is lowered every time. Initial usage of Meditate will yield 30 Breath, then 25 > 15 > 5 (5 is the lowest value.) This can be reset easily if Glacier uses up something else other than Meditate. Glacier can only stack up to 100 Breath. Contaminate has a chance of giving the foe a status effect called Virus. This status effect reverses all healing properties, hurting them instead of healing them. The recipient of this attack has to roll 7 or above to not get this status. This attack will use up 20 Breath whether it lands or not. Aid will heal an ally’s energy. Base healing is 10+r(n) (Nat1 always yields failure.) Just like Contaminate, this ability will use up 40 Breath even if Nat1 is rolled. Concentrate will temporarily grant the target +3 in their magical-based attacks for 5 turns. When used, Glacier will gather 5 Breath The modifier buff cannot be stacked and cannot be used to targets with the Concentration buff active. If Reflect is used, Glacier will grant the target a protective, magical barrier that is able to reflect magical projectiles back to its caster for 5 turns. It also reflects back beneficial spells like Concentrate and Aid as well to its original owner as well. This spell uses up to 40 Breath. Glacier’s Passives: Discipline has a chance for Meditate’s Breath gathering to be doubled (30 > 60). Glacier has to roll 10 or above for doubled Breath chance. Ambush lets Glacier attack first, no matter how terrible his Initiative roll is. Only applicable once per battle on the first turn. When the first turn passes, Ambush’s ability is nullified for that battle. Glacier's Weaknesses: Glacier, despite his imposing size, has his fair share of weaknesses. Give him a reason to care for your well-being and this big beast will stand in your foe’s way, even if it kills him. As a Plague-elemental, he is also weak to Ice, Fire and Light-based attacks. If your attacks are aligned to any of these elements, boost that specific attack with a +3 modifier. While he shows immense tenacity against death itself by being able to revive himself, Glacier is mortal. He is just quite used to being poisoned over and over that his body is practically just flushing out detrimental toxic wastes as soon as possible (hence his 'melty' state). While he is basically immune to being poisoned, mortally wounding him is a whole another can of worms. His body can't regenerate lost skin cells as quickly like what poison does to his body, open wounds stay as open wounds. 「Personality」 Glacier is known to be a strict mentor-type of a dragon. Anyone who wants to be his student has to learn what makes him tick and what brings him pride quickly, or feel the wrath of what basically is an old man with short-temperedness. Despite his grouchy and gruff attitude, Glacier is surprisingly very soft-hearted when it comes to young critters, especially when they remind him of his only daughter: Blackwing. When he sees someone as worth protecting as if they were his child, he is a lovable oaf of a dragon that shows his more caring, parental side of him. It’s difficult for an ol’ gruff dragon like him to open up fully to others however. A challenge, even. He lived a long life in solitude with only a few of Frostclan’s dragons, his own daughter and his familiar 「Backstory」 Glacier used to be a regular Tundra Dragon. He is Frostclan's master potionist/alchemist and father of the potion artisan, Blackwing. His roots from Plague Flight had made him more than immune to different kinds of poisons and toxins from several things: Animal venom, poisonous plants, highly specialized and poisonous concoction from Beastclan, to his own toxic brews. He isn't afraid to try them all to himself, and see what effect it'll have on a dragon like him. This resulted in him dying from more than anyone can count, his latest death seemed to have a strange effect on his body after being revived for the nth time, turning him into an ancient Gaoler Dragon. The toxin also made his resurrection a little bit… “incomplete” in a way. His body seems to be “melty” with viscid fluid-like material. Despite this, his body is working properly as intended, as if he doesn’t really feel the effects of the viscous shade gnawing on his body. In his quest to create the greatest antidote, by his side is his familiar and Theme Songs Chemistry On and On - OMORI OST Obsession - PeriTune Why did I submit Glacier? Funny sidearc for Chamomile :) HEADCANONS! It was his daughter’s idea to make him pick up more light-hearted potion effects, and she wouldn’t take no for an answer. Astore badgered him further, much to Glacier’s annoyance. Glacier’s breath also smells like death because of his Plague Flight roots, but he remedies this by consuming a LOT of mint leaves. He can only eat so much before he feels full though.
