Dragon Log

Once called Fintan, when he lived in another clan, he wandered away while still a hatchling, and decided that he liked this cave better. Taking a name to better fit his new home, he settled right in. He made a friend just as quickly, and now enjoys the constant company of a Longneck Magi. At the moment, he is not yet sure about mates, having just grown into his adult status, but someday he may want an Enigma of his own....

8-25-14: During the Flameforger's Festival, Mystery found the Accent "Igniteus," that adds just the right mystique to his appearance... his mate seems to like it, too.

10-1-14: His Longneck Magi has Awakened! Mystery is impressed with the new energy his old friend is displaying, and wondering what the gentle wizard will come up with to do next...

10-14-14: What the Longneck Magi decided to do was branch out and become the Mage for the entire clan. Before he moved out of Mystery's sleeping area, however, he did find his oldest friend a replacement companion--though Mystery is not entirely certain he is grateful that he now has to deal with a proud, untamable Red-Breasted Hainu all day long...

10-19-14: Now that he and Enigma are a bit older, he approached his mate about the possibility of trying for little ones... and she was quite amenable. They are now the proud parents of two eggs, and rather anxiously waiting to see if they hatch...

10-24-14: To Mystery's great delight, both his young hatchlings emerged successfully from their eggs! He is very impressed with his son and daughter, and can't wait to see what they look like when they grow up....

11-29-14: The purple Mirror is developing into something of a flirt, secure in the knowledge that Enigma doesn't mind sharing... as long as she has final say! How long this development will last is anyone's guess, but it certainly makes for some interesting diversions at the Festivals, even when Mystery is supposed to be doing something else... ( , ) …But Enigma is always there to step in if things get a bit out of hand… ( , ) …And so it looks like Mystery's Rockbreaker's Festival--and his flirting with the pretty Ridgebcak running the stall--have come to an end. At least he got a nice familiar out of it...and the Death's Head Stag will certainly NOT be going to one of his hatchlings if he has anything to say about it...

12-12-14: Partly as a means to control his "ladies-man" style, and partly because she realized he was bored, and she wanted to give her mate--and herself--something to do, Enigma has convinced Mystery to try his, er, claw, in the Coliseum. It turned out to be a good choice: he and she make a formidable team, with the much more experienced Beeblebrox to guide them, even if Beeb's technique is a little wacky.....

1-10-15: It seems to be a day for Awakening familiars... along with several others, Mystery's Red-Breasted Hainu has Awakened! The Hainu is quite pleased with himself--especially as Mystery gave him a nice meat bone to celebrate.

1-17-15: The Hainu has wandered off to do some hunting. Mystery is extremely interested in what he might bring home. In the meantime, however, he discovered a rather intriguing circumstance: a Lightning Bear that seems a bit... odd. The Voltspire Intruder seems as fascinated with the Mirror as he is with him....

2-28-15: Some very odd things are going on in the Clan lately. Some are, of course, the result of the ongoing Prank War with Teeka's Clan, which started as a friendly joke delivered by a couple Spirals from that Clan for this year's Trickmurk Circus and has now escalated into something else entirely. Other happenings, however, seem to have other origins...or do they? ( , )

Seeing rabbits that were apparently not there at all has caused Mystery to become quite a laughing stock among the dragons of the Clan, and this has not made him very happy. Hopefully some time in the Coliseum will settle Mystery down....

4-17-15: The mutual fascination between odd Mirror and strange Bear has reached it's inevitable next step: The Voltspire Intruder has Awakened! It is anyone's guess what he will do now--except for the fact that it will probably involve Mystery and mimicry…oh dear...

8-1-16: Mystery has been gathering quite a "hoard" around him lately. Now a Sparkling Goblin, from the clans around the Stormcatcher himself, has decided to move into the Mirror's sleeping area. Arc is making an impression on everyone.... and seems to have chased the shy Longneck Magi right into the Vault! Mystery is a bit amused by this, while Arc seems unconcerned about his effect on the older familiars....

12-15-16: Arc has finally Awakened! Mystery is very happy for his newest friend, and eager to see what he will do next....

7-22-18: During a trip back to the Shifting Expanse, Mystery found something rather interesting to occupy his time, and help clean out the hoard a bit as well.... ( )

9-7-18: As this year's Lightning familiar was supposed to be slated for the Sparkmage, Mystery's fellow Lightning dragon, he was not really interested in interacting with it, not wishing to create a circumstance such as Spinel did, when the Lightning Bug unexpectedly bonded with the Coatl after being healed. Unfortunately for those plans, however, it turned out that, like last year, this year's Lightning familiar is also a bug. A mith, to be exact. Despite the fact that it is probably far too....powerful...to be easily consumed, the Sparkmage took one look, and flatly refused to have anything to do with the poor Voltaic Ambassador. As a result, the mith has been rather lonely, and was all too eager to engage Mystery in conversation when he went to check out the hoard for some things....and now, despite himself, the Mirror has a new familiar to add to his "family"! Hopefully this bond will be as happy as the others he has....

12-19-18: The Voltaic Ambassador is no longer lonely. Far from it, in fact. he has found tons of friends among Mystery's other companions, and even seems to like Esoterica a bit as well. He is one happy mith now, and today he Awakened to his full potential within the bond at last. Mystery is pleased that his newest familiar is so content, and interested in seeing what the Ambassador will be doing with all his new energy....

1-30-19: it's been some time since Mystery has had a good fight in the Coli--or anywhere, really. Therefore, he has signed himself up as part of the Clan's team for the Sornieth Winter Games, and to his great delight, his mate, Enigma, has joined him! For some reason, the rest of the Clan does not seem quite as pleased... ( )

2-8-19: It was fun while it lasted--and it was a lot of fun. But all good things must come to an end, and some end poorly. The team lost. Badly. But them, considering who he had to play with, Mystery was not really expecting miracles. He is content with his Participation Medal, and already looking forward to being picked for the team again next year. After all, you can never have too much of a good thing...

4-12-20: Recently, a number of the Clan's "Vault Familiars" have begun to return to their dragons. In fact, so many have done so that the familiar area of the Vault is becoming quite empty, and some are beginning to wonder if there will be any familiars left in there by the time this strange exodus comes to an end. It was not really surprising, therefore, that Mystery's Longneck Magi friend has re-appeared in the Training Grounds. Mystery would have been far more surprised if he had not. Of far more interest to the Mirror is the possibilities that this return of his first Coli familiar has opened up. Perhaps he should consider working on his battle moves again? It would be nice to go back to the Arena and engage in a good fight...

4-5-21: Mystery got a bit of a shock today, when, in the middle of playing with his Sparking Goblin, he was interrupted by a Laybrush Larcenist who simply appeared from the back of the caves and demanded attention. A hanger-on from an old Festival journey, the Larcenist had been living in an out of the way section of the Clan’s caves, never bothering anyone. Slowly, over a long period of time, the strange fox was becoming less Wary of the Clan, but this is the first time he actually has tried to initiate contact with any specific dragon, and Mystery is not really sure what he wants…

6-30-21: "Nix," the Laybrush Larcenist, has Awakened. Mystery is pleased to see his newest friend looking so strong--and even more pleased that Nix might now tell him what, exactly, he is looking for...
