Dragon Log

An avid reader of fantasy scrolls, she is also attracted to the magic of the Arcane lands, and sometimes wishes that she had been born a Pearlcatcher, or perhaps a Tundra, with the ability to manipulate what she feels so clearly. Certainly the Pearlcatchers of the lair seem to agree with this assessment, as she has been practically adopted by Athena, who calls her her little Quadrangla. It is, therefore, not very surprising that her favorite scrolls focus on stories of elemental mages and the blending of elements. Who knows? Perhaps in time she will become a mage after all...

One talent does seem to be developing: Early on in her time in the lair, she attracted a Baku to her side. No one understood this strange bonding... until the first time she joined him in the astral plane. Not even the Pearlcatchers can do that!

9-30-14: Her Baku has Awakened to his full potential! She is excited at all the possibilities this opens up, and can not wait to go wandering with him again....

12-15-14: After many moonturns of wandering, the Baku is exploring a new region all on his own, while "Quadrangla" takes a rest... and gets to know her new friend, the Renegade Aviar, who followed her home from one of her wanderings.....

3-15-15: The Aviar has finally awakened! His Ridgeback friend is very happy for him....

4-4-15: It appears that traveling in the astral plane has more than one advantage--and also causes some interesting effects. While on a journey of some days, the ethereal Ridgeback stumbled upon the abode of a friendly fox. He was quite a help on her journey, and since he was alone, she invited him to join her on the physical plane. He accepted, provided she did not try to hold him when he wanted to leave. When she crossed back over, however, and looked for her new friend, she found a shock.... rather than a furry normal fox, she had befriended--and bonded with--a Trick-of-the-Light!

7-4-15: True to her word, "Quadrangla" has not tried to hold her friend, and he has been free to come and go as he pleases... and perhaps this is why the two have grown so close so quickly. Even before his magic acknowledged the link, it was clear to the whole Clan that this Trick-of-the-Light had begun to bond very closely indeed to particular Ridgeback..... and now he has Awakened! Only time will tell if he will remain indefinitely, but it is certain that whatever he does his dragon companion will always be close to his heart....

8-12-16: It has been some time since this Ridgeback attracted a new friend to her side, so perhaps it is no surprise that the Clan's Colorburst Buttersnake became interested in her. Athena is quite amused at her daughter's newest acquisition, and many of the dragons have noted that the Buttersnake's colors fit his "mistress" perfectly....

12-28-16: The Colorburst Buttersnake has Awakened! His Ridgeback friend is thrilled for her companion, and already wondering what he will name himself....

6-9-19: Fluctuations in magic are becoming common in the Clan, as things in the Starfall Isles seem to have been getting a bit more hectic over the past year. Recently, things have become even more interesting than usual, however, as a tide of magical energy has been sweeping the Clan, causing quite a few magic auras to appear in the visible spectrum, on both dragons who were expecting it, and those who were not. The latest in such tide of magic has penetrated deeper into the caves that usual, and seems to be interreacting with the “normal” magical traces throughout the Magical Phenomena Cave Circle. As a result, a number of mages and other “explorers of magic” have been experiencing changes…and “Quadrangla” has now been added to the list. It is really no surprise that she ended up with a Halo, as she is a dabbler in all kinds of magical energy. It was something of a shock, though, that she ended up with four….

8-25-19: This not-so-young-anymore Four Element Mage Adept has decided to venture out of the caves at last, to visit the Flameforger’s Festival, and check out a certain Ember Toss Game. ( , ) It seems, however, that “Quadrangla” still has not learned how to control her power, and as a result, while the irresponsible Ridgeback managed to win 4 bottles and a strange piece of Embear armor (
) , she also managed to create an extremely volatile situation with the Forge’s flames, which seem to be becoming sentient… ( , , )

8-26-19: Fortunately, Athena has been keeping a close eye on her adopted daughter, and managed to arrive at the Forge before disaster had much of a chance to strike. ( ) Even so, it might be a good idea for the motherly Pearlcatcher to take a closer look at “Quadrangla”’s friends in the Clan. There was something oddly familiar about those leaping animalistic flames…
