While cleaning out an old, forgotten archive in the beautiful, pink lands of Arcane, Erh and Ems accidentally came in contact with a set of curious, unused ink when the unseen bottles tumbled off a high shelf. After a long, tense moment of nothing happening, they saved what they could, just in case, and cleaned themselves off.

The very next morning, they awoke with permanently changed appearances. Their hides resembled parchment that had been stained with color. Believing that the Arcanist had inadvertently blessed them, they took it in stride.

A few weeks later, they stumbled across the knowledge that they could safely channel much more magic than before.


Their children are born with the same distinctive patterns on their hide and ample magic reserves. Despite having the Icewarden in their veins, Erh and Ems believe their family's been further blessed by their maker, the Arcanist, for their hatchlings' pigments of color are ever-shifting.
