Devocaii's parents are personal guards for Tuchariin Okull's leader, Xilu, and his lover, Peryite.

As soon as the children are old enough, Seramune and Falaeron begin training them in the art of close combat; both to give them an edge when they decide to stretch their wings, and to aid the clan during their stay — if the need should arise.

As the only child out of their second nest, Devocaii felt the pressure left behind from siblings he never met. When he wasn't tasked with training and studying, he was sneaking from the safety of the glacier at night to explore the surrounding territory.

It was on such a cold, clear night that he learned about the Shade first-hand — and has, appropriately, secretly, held negativity towards it since. Though Tuchariin Okull hadn't been one to follow a religion, he often catches himself contemplating it.


After a long, lonely journey that brought him out of Ice, the sudden swell of people in an unfamiliar city brought him comfort as he figured out what to do next.
