Biography
Sheabna’s eyes manifest its glow once she reached adulthood. Her father had told her that glowing eyes were a sign of a strong connection to Ragnar, her great grandfather. She knew that with her eyes now glowing. She would be known as a will-o-wisp. That was fine with her. It matched her desire for travel. Was it her eye’s glow that filled her with that longing or was the longing that caused the glow? She didn’t know. It really didn’t matter. Once when she was a hatchling, Tyr, her father, had introduced her to her great grand parents. She had asked Lorelei why she didn’t have the Runes gene as the legend told. Lorelei smiled and told her she had directed her power and willed her genes to change. She then said that maybe one day she too would have the power to be able to will change. Sheabna stopped her remembrance and let that statement repeat. Lorelei had willed her change. Could she? Her father had said glowing eyes meant having power. Did she? She considered her options. It pleased her that now her eyes along with her genes matched her grandfather. She didn’t really want to change that connection. But, she was sorry that she didn’t have any match to her great grandmother Lorelei. A slow smile began. She sat and willed, but nothing happened. She remembered and repeated the statement. Lorelei had directed *her* power. Maybe she could connect with her great grandmother’s power and direct it? She thought, then nodded, and concentrated. There! She felt the power. She knew Lorelei was resting. If she were careful... She cautiously tapped into Lorelei’s power and willed. It took some time, perhaps ten minutes , but finally Sheabna felt the transformation. She rejoiced. She now had the genes of Ragnar and the breed of Lorelei. Lorelei’s voice entered her mind. “Very good young one. Now, go be you.” She smiled. Sheabna the will-o-wisp was ready to travel. ~~~~~ Sheabna leisurely opened the family newsletter. She liked the idea of it keeping the family updated. The newsletter is how she found out about her aunt Shovann being awarded the title of Valkyrie and that she was living on Lulungomeena. She had also enjoyed reading about her own addition into the family registry. But, for the most part the news was boring. However, today was a little different, two new gene patterns have been accepted for the family. She thought. “Keep this up and there will not be any diluted descendants of Ragnar and Lorelei’s left.” She smiled to herself. She read on, her smile left. Ragnar had acquired one of the new genes. Now she and he didn’t match. She hurried to Avalon and asked for a scry. She saw that the new gene would give her an accent with a touch of yellow. Ugly. Now what? She wanted to match her great grandfather. But, the new genes were hideous on her. She liked her flowing blue coloration. Then a remembrance, came to her. “Now go be you.” Lorelei had said. “Yes!” she said out loud. “I will be me. I will keep my genes as they are. Or, Maybe I’ll change my tert to a more Wisp-ish gene.” She grinned, “ I will-o -be me.” ~~~~~ Sheabna has adopted Yanta as her haven for rest and relaxation.
