Cascade
Gunner
Serious || Loyal || Grumpy
"My demons have learned how to swim."
Cascade grew up traveling at a young age with her parents. During a particularly windy day however she got blown off course and ended up lost and alone. The young guardian tried to find her family again to no avail until she finally had to admit defeat. During this time she had learned quickly how to take care of herself and the older she got the harder it was to remember what her family looked like or what their names were. As a young dragon in need of a way to make a living, Cascade with all her survival abilities was eventually recruited by Jacques to act as a gunner for Death's Void. It was tough work and definitely questionable. Their way of living provided a life of excitement but also a life under the constant stress of life or death situations. Luckily, her way of dealing with other dragons that got on her nerves was just as explosive at times as her gun powder and canon fire. Most learned not to get on her nerves. Very few dragons were able to get close to her even among the crew. Being on ships for long periods of time however gave way to a few relationships, though they weren't necessarily love. Cascade often has nests with her crewmates Daggersworn and Hisoki. Their hatchlings are usually dropped off at the nearest port without so much as a goodbye from them. She prided herself in not having attachments to them and it was unlikely most would remember—she didn't dwell on what they thought. One exception was grudgingly made to her charge. It was an unexpected find, as she didn't force the desire to go on her search. The crew was restocking supplies when she felt an almost forceful pull towards a stack of barrels. Behind them she found Prax, an abandoned guardian hatchling. Of course her charge had to be another dragon, and still a hatchling nonetheless. Karma for what she did to her own hatchlings no doubt. She wouldn't admit her attachment to her charge, even after he was given a place on the ship. Cascade was glad he was useful to them, at least it meant less work for all of them. The guardian focuses more on her job than any other relationships. After all, it's her duty to protect them and if she doesn't do that it could cost all their lives. |
