____Growing up, all the children of the dragons who operate a magical nuclear reactor (similar to the one that birthed the Arcanist, though nowhere near its scale) have to play with are spare parts, an assortment of tools, and, if they are lucky, a pool of contaminated coolant. Fortunately, due to their distant relation to the Plague Wastebug subspecies, what levels of radiation that would have killed a normal dragon long ago have little to no effect on them at all.

It matters little what paths they eventually choose for themselves, all learn the laws of science and the rules of magic; as for what they will choose to do with this knowledge is a question only time will answer.

The first thing one notices about Andra is that the gembond on their scales-- citrine-yellow and bright as anything-- moves. It shifts in swirling patterns on their hide, in shapes of runes in a language long dead and in intricate sequences that only make sense to the most experienced of sorcerers.

The second is that they never blink, which is considerably less alarming, perhaps, but Andra does not blink because they cannot. They can read magic in the air and feel it in the auras of dragons around them. It is a curse, for it is worse when they sleep; wisps of magic whisper and sing in a cacophony of chaos, and Andra would gladly trade every ability, every shred of magic they possessed, if only to live one quiet day.
