Biography

guyFzki.gif Cruel and cold like winds on the sea
Will you ever return to me?
Hear my voice, sing with the tide
My love will never die
Over waves and deep in the blue
I will give up my heart for you
Ten long years, I’ll wait to go by
My love will never die

Come, my love be one with the sea
Rule with me for eternity
Drown all dreams so mercilessly
And leave their souls to me
Play the song you sang long ago
And wherever the storm may blow
You will find the key to my heart
We’ll never be apart
Wild and strong you can’t be contained
Never bound nor ever chained
Wounds you caused will never mend
And you will never end

Cruel and cold like winds on the sea
Will you ever return to me
Hear my voice sing with the tide
Our love will never die

But time goes on and still you roam
The ocean depths, forever alone
You left me here to grieve and pine
But still my love remains divine

I'll wait for you, my love, my own
And hope that you will return to me
But if you never come back again
I'll find solace in the memory
Of your wild and stormy soul
And the love that I once knew
But until then, my heart will hold
A love that will never die.

They could not wipe out the North-East gales
Nor what those gales set free —
The pirate ships with their close-reefed sails,
Leaping from sea to sea.

The pirates roamed the ocean wild
Their flags of black and red unfurled
With treasure and with plunder piled
They left destruction in their wake

Despite the storms that raged above
The pirates sailed with fearless love
For adventure and for freedom's sake
They braved the waves and braved the storm

But time has passed and pirates fade
Into the pages of history
Their ships now rust and rot away
But still their legend lives on strong.

In an honest service there is thin commons, low wages, and hard labour. In this, plenty and satiety, pleasure and ease, liberty and power. No, a merry life and a short one shall be my motto. Since I had dipp'd my hands in muddy water, I must be a pirate. It's better being a Commander than a common man.

Of all the pyratical crews that were ever heard of, none of the English name came up to this, in barbarity. Their mirth and their anger had much the same effect, for both were usually gratified with the cries and groans of their prisoners; so that they almost as often murdered a man from the excess of good humour, as out of passion and resentment; and the unfortunate could never be assured of safety from them, for danger lurked in their very smiles.

Etymology
Latin Orcinus (“of the realms of the dead”), from Orcus + -inus

Orcus was a god of the underworld, punisher of broken oaths in Italic and Roman mythology. As with Hades, the name of the god was also used for the underworld itself. In the later tradition, he was conflated with Dis Pater.

Orcus was portrayed in paintings in Etruscan tombs as a hairy, bearded giant. It is likely that he was transliterated from the Greek daemon Horkos, the personification of Oaths and a son of Eris.

Suffix
-īnus m (feminine -īna, neuter -īnum); first/second declension

Of or pertaining to; -ine; usually indicates a relationship of position, possession, or origin.

The Code of Iliad

I. No gambling aboard the ship.

II. The lights and candles are to be out at eight o'clock at night: if any of the crew still remained inclined for drinking, they were to do it on the open deck.

III. Weapons are to be kept clean and fit for service.

IV. To desert the ship in battle is punished with death or marooning.

V. No striking one another on board, every man's quarrels is to be ended on shore, at sword and pistol. Victor is the one who draws the first blood.

VI. The Captain to receive two shares of a prize: the Quartermaster one share and a half, and gunner and boatswain one and a quarter.

VII. Every man has equal title to the fresh provisions or strong liquors, and may use them at pleasure, unless a scarcity makes it necessary, for the good of all, to vote a retrenchment.

VIII. Anyone who steals anything on the ship shall be marooned or shot.
