Dragon Log

A powerful mage, she is proficient in Air, Fire, and Earth. Once, as a hatchling, she dabbled in Water as well. She has no true calling, however, and is equally proficient in all three of her Elements. As such, choosing her name has proven difficult. Names, after all, have power, and a mage named the wrong thing can be at a tremendous disadvantage....

9-30-14: Her Bramble Guardian has Awakened! She is happy for her friend, and hopes that he can now settle down in the lair. He has enjoyed himself hunting the small animals and insects that have tried to infect the lair, but his restlessness sometime got on the other dragon's nerves....

10-4-14: Having helped nurture a creature linked with Water and Earth, she has decided to try her hand at aiding one tied to Fire... perhaps this will help her find her way? At any rate, the Ember Mouse does not seem to mind her choice, and is settling down well in his new home. Of course, that could just be relief at being allowed to explore after having been cooped up in the hoard for so long....

12-31-14: December is sometimes the month of darkness, but not for this dragon-familiar pair: The Ember Mouse has Awakened! He is literally glowing with happiness and life, and his Pearlcatcher companion is equally happy... though the other dragons are a little wary of the flames....

2-21-15: The Ember Mouse has wandered off for a bit...and a Banded Owlcat has taken his place. She seems intent on getting to know this particular Pearlcatcher better, despite their apparent lack of common ground....

5-22-15: The Banded Owlcat has Awakened! It was not an easy journey, but in the end she and her Pearlcatcher friend found some things in common after all--beginning with their hunting styles....

1-18-16: Change is, of course, inevitable, particularly with a young mage who has not yet found her style of element. While the Pearlcatcher begins to focus more and more on Fire and Air, she and her Bramble Guardian have drifted farther and farther apart. Recently, he expressed an interest in retiring to sleep in the Vault, and she is not adverse to granting his request....

8-28-18: The Clan's Fire mages are all becoming quite animated this Flameforger's Festival, both those born to Ashfall Wastes, and those who have adopted Fire as one of their proficiencies. It seems that something....powerful....is stirring in the new Volcano, and this Pearlcatcher is only the latest in a group of mages to feel the pull towards a certain Ember Toss Game... ( )

Incredibly, she lit all 10 Bottles in the game! She is very pleased with her efforts, and has sent the bottles back to her personal cave, to sit proudly on her Trophy Shelf. Meanwhile, she remains at this fascinating volcano to watch what is happening, as it seems that the Fire magic in this area is only growing stronger with each passing minute…

9-1-18: It is a good thing that she stayed, after all, as the fire within those fascinating bottles just kept changing every day. The Pearlcatcher has watched the entire process with interest, and now that it seems to be complete, she has made the decision to see if one of her earlier bottles can also be changed. As it turns out, as one of her watching Clanmates saw to his astonishment and joy, it can be, and was. ( )

Needless to say, the Pearlcatcher isn't the only one who converted a bottle today...

9-3-18: The Clan is beginning to get used to sudden, magical shifts in the air around the Fire dragons in the lair--especially with those who went to the Forge in that Volcano. It really was no surprise, therefore, when this Pearlcatcher, like her uncle before her, acquired a Conflagrant Halo as soon as she cast a Fire Spell today. Though there are some in the Clan wondering if perhaps she might acquire other such Halos in the future. She is, after all, proficient in more than one element....

1-25-19: The question of whether or not this particular Pearlcatcher will acquire more than one Halo has been answered: Today, minutes after she cast a spell to manipulate the earth in the caves, making a new cave space a bit wider, a Crystalcourt Halo appeared around her head, merging with the Conflagrant Halo already there. Now it is no longer a question of whether or not another elemental Halo will appear, but rather when the final one will do so and complete the set...

6-9-19: The most recent surge of magical energy sweeping through the caves seems to be much stronger than before, to the point that it is making Changes to dragons without their needing to do anything to encourage the process. As a result, no one was really surprised when the Aerborne Halo appeared around this Pearlcatcher’s head today, finally completing her "set," despite the fact that she has not cast an Air spell in some time…

4-6-20: Changes continue to occur in the Clan, and the Lair, although this latest change is not to the dragons themselves, but rather to the familiars: A number of the "Vault Familiars seem to have decided to return to their original dragon, rejoining the little "families" that they had left moons, or even years, before. The Bramble Guardian's appearance was something of a shock, but a welcome one none-the-less...
