-He just wants hugs but everyone ignores him
-Slightly mutated but he doesn't care

Upon hatching out of his egg, Pestilence looked normal at first, - aside from his eyes - but it was as soon after he came out the nest is when his parents realized that he was slightly mutated.
How did this happen?
Due to the mass amount of radiation he was getting inside his egg, it caused him to grow mutations.
His parents don't mind it, though.
They think it makes him unique, and decided to keep him to take care of him.
However, there was one thing that startled his parents.
When he looked up at his mother and squeaked, his mouth ran halfway down his neck! it scared the Spiral, yes, but she didn't want to be grossed out by her own son.

His father seemed to be more confused than amazed, however, unlike his mother.
some of the mutations Lyete could point out were, besides his mouth: extra horns beside his cheek, no leg wings, spikier scales, and an extra, useless arm growing out of his left shoulder.
"I'll protect you for as long as possible, my son." she whispered to him.
He tried to speak some words, but all that came out were peeps and squeaks.
Lyete laughed.
"You're such a funny little hatchling." She then realized he was probably hungry and went to get a slice of owl meat.
"Hungry?" she asked him.
He raised his paws talons in the air, as if he was asking for the meat.
Lyete smiled and handed it to him.
Then, as she picked him up, he was able to speak a very slurred word.
". . . momma!"
Out of excitement, lyete hugged him.
She then realized that her special son needed a name.
"Hmm. . . I'll name you Pestilence. it may stand for something bad, but in my eyes, it stands for something beautiful."

Her son may have been a bit deformed, but she knew he was worth taking care of. What would other dragons think of him?
She didn't want him growing up in a family that was horrified of him. That thought felt very wrong to her. She knew there was good in him, and, no matter what others thought, she'd always love him forever.

At first when Pestilence moved from his old Clan, he was avoided by the dragons. But a few kindlier ones reached out to him, and now he is accepted as a loved and essential part of the clan.
