Biography
I retreated into the temple with careful steps - the walls threatened to turn to dust upon each thump of my claws. I took a deep breath in, thinking about my choices. To abandon the world I have known and isolate myself, was this the right choice? I shiver with the memory of sharp claws and jaws agape in laughter. It was too dangerous outside...
You spot a sliver of light that falls upon a pair of small white flowers. Your gaze rests on them for a long time, for they will likely be the last trace of the outside world you'll ever see. You push your snout through the thin crack of the light's entrance, breathing in - moist soil, fresh leaves, clean air. You turn - you must - groping the crumbling ancient walls as you move on through the dark, abandoning the light.
The tunnels within the sacred walls led kilometres in pointlessly winding paths that ended at sometimes the same place. No one went there, for it was said that the very land was vengeful, an old curse, of sorts. I peered at the carvings on the walls, curious as to their meaning. Ever since I have isolated myself, life has been more peaceful. No one to laugh at my deformities... it was my safe haven.
Stumbling blindly, pushing past webs, or were they roots? Seconds or days? But you must - dust invades your nostrils and mouth - you must meet him.
Over the course of many years, I ventured deeper into the recesses of the ancient architecture. The darkness, once a gaping abyss, is now comforting, womb-like, blanketing me in a beautiful silence. No one is here. No one can hurt me again.
You have heard the tales, of a grotesquely deformed dragon, and... his ability to give life. 'Lies!' 'Pure nonsense!' 'A load of baloney!' They all scrabbled to say, but you could see the fear in their eyes when you mentioned his name. 'Perhaps, he can give you what you need,' one finally said. That single sentence was all you held onto, you needed to.
Now, I hear the stumbling of an awkward creature coming before me, limbs weak from months of walking and breath coming out in shallow gasps. I stiffen, hoping that this is not another dragon, no, I've been hurt enough!
Even without the light, you are now aware of the presence of a large animal before you, no, a fellow dragon. An imperial. Was it him?
I squeeze my eyes shut, praying the dragon will go away, away, away...
This is it! You have found him! Your one and only last hope! You rush forward...
'Go away!' I think, claws gripping the ground hard in fear. Silence.
