As you try making your way to the fabled spa among the highest floors, you notice you’ve entered a realm of suites- rooms bigger than the head of the crescendo. Softly, you rap at a door labeled “Sunset Suite” which sounds deliciously inviting. You are responded to with what sounds like the trill of a small bird on the other side of the door. However, it opens to a boy wrapped in a sepia rose, embroidered with a pretty form of a rose in tasteful places. A crown lounges on his head, glinting in the gold setting sun behind him and nestled in his pristine daisy white curls.
His luminous eyes are lamps in his shaded face, complimenting his kind smile with long lashes that strafe his cheeks. "Hello!" His voice is soft and warm, blossoming with a cheerful spirit. "You look like you could use a drink."
Expecting a nice blended mix of sweet berry and vodka, you accept his invitation and humbly walk into the parlor.
The room you enter has a New York studio look to it, like a starving artist's industrial turned dream apartment. Warm yellow lights drape from the high ceiling rafters and embroidered carpets line the once cold grey cement floor. By the long bar-like kitchen island you sit, the entire wall behind you is one long row of a floor to ceiling window in which you see the pink puffed clouds and dissipating sunset slowly fall behind the black city skyline.
Bodhi appears by the fridge with a glass, and begins listing off options for your beverage. "I have cola, orange juice, green tea, chamomile tea and- oh! Lemonade!" You know realize that this sweet kid would not have any alchohol in his abode, and you are confusingly relieved.
You answered and now have a nice flat glass of cold cola. You sip the syrup as Bodhi takes a seat next to you, swiveling in his bar chair to look at the last vanishing rays of the evening. You notice a certain dizziness, or intoxication, to him as he watches the sun. You also notice that as others would gaze at the aesthetically pleasing color shifting clouds and hazy sky, his lidded yellow eyes gaze lovingly and unflinchingly at the sun. You recall your mother telling you sternly not to do that such thing ever, but you resolve not to make a comment on it.
"Gone so soon? You are leaving earlier and earlier." Bodhi says softly.
You look at him in bewilderment, you aren't leaving, and certainly have never been here before.
"I'll see you tomorrow, dear. I know you won't say goodbye. Wake me up in the morning." Bodhi blinks and you notice his eyes gloss and redden. Tears?
"Who are you talking to?" You meekly question, attempting not to seem odd if he was paraphrasing or something explainable.
He looks at you with the slight smile of someone in love- in love with someone who takes them for granted, someone who never notices the love for some godforsaken reason. "The sun."
You slightly **** your head to the side, visibly perplexed.
Bodhi sighs, closing his eyes and wiping the tear that falls. "Nothing to think about, I promise. I'm just impatient." He smiles once more at the purple dusk, "I need to be with him."
