The moment Tancred was hatched, his parents knew something wasn't... Right about him. And when he opened his eyes, their suspicions were confirmed. His eyes were..... off, different. They were red like they're supposed to be. But there were no pupils. And the small bundle was shaking violently. As he started to grow, it would be a common sight to see him clawing and batting at things that were not there. He growled and hissed at unknown beings and also talked to them. In their eyes, Tancred was maybe just a lunatic born under unlucky stars. But he saw something no one else did. He could see the Shade itself manifesting in weird shapes and monsters that lurked in the dark. This has made him fearful and paranoid, and Tancred doesn't know anymore what is real and what is not.

• anxious 24/7 for any number of reasons • insomniac due to nightmares he experiences when he sleeps • freezes up when everything around him gets to be too much, and has to be talked down to a calmer state • mane grows long and messy, he rarely devotes any effort to his appearance or health • loves Liril a lot, but feels like a burden to him • scared of his own shadow because he can never know whether it’s a figment of his imagination, a normal effect of the sun, or a serious threat • believes he’s insane, having been convinced by his birth clan that what he sees is just in his head • doesn’t know whether it’s worse to be shunned for its insanity or for his fears to actually be real • prefers to take up posts further away from the main hubs of the clan so nobody’s bothered by him
