Biography

Noisur
Retired Traveler

Uh-oh, looks like this exotic little man wandered a little too far from his home lair (310371, QueenRed), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Noisur fled his home clan in the middle of the night after a feuding clan attacked at dusk. He'd been on his way back with his youngest sister when the attack started, and by the end, he was one of the few trainees left. Instantly, he ran and took refuge in the caverns that marked the end of the clans extensive territory. His heart pounded against his chest and the moment the smoke cleared and the skies emptied, he took flight.

Noisur spent days in the wilderness. He went farther away from the Tangled Wood. Some creatures followed him on his way, keeping themselves hidden. The shaking of the leaves could not escape Noisur's sharp observation at all.
"Who is there? Reveal yourselves!" Yelled Noisur.
Shadows burst out from the bushes, leaped towards Noisur. There were at least fifteen of them. The young Imperial used all his might shaking those wildings off his wings. At the same time, another group of dragons appeared behind the trees, led by a dark blue Imperial with Ebony armors. Soon they joined the fight.
"Step back, young man." Said the leading imperial in a low voice. "It's our job to evict those filthy beasts out of the Sunbeam territory."
"I am a fighter, let me help!" Noisur told him.
Noisur joined the army of dragons. They sunk their teeth into those wildings' flesh. Later Noisur learned that the Imperial who helped him, Mika, is the commander of the guards in a nearby clan. Mika invited Noisur to his clan. The Dragons welcomed the traveler with warm kindness. Noisur stayed there for a while and he moved on.

It was under the cover of night that he returned to his home lair, where many of the friendly faces he once knew were gone. It pained him to see how few members of the clan were left. He placed his forehead against Rhenine's and held it there as if a silent promise that he'd bring that missing piece back to their home. "I'll be back my darling," he purred, placing a kiss where his head had been moments before, and he took off to the skies once more.

After carefully leaving his home territory, he made his way over to Wind Territory for a brief stay in the city of Caesura. He had heard through the grapevine that a new gathering place and rest stop had opened there, and wanted to see it with his own eyes. Perhaps gather some intel or even backup while he was there. It was everything that could be hoped for! The Rest Hub itself was an old-fashioned inn that had been set up just across the street from a fun local watering hole. There were plenty of other familiar faces also stopping by to see the new space, and stories and drinks aplenty were shared!

He even picked up some unexpected help in the form of a new companion- a magical, sentient telescope that wished to help him to better see the world, as well as to find what he had lost.

He'd decided that enough was enough and that the windy territory was just a little too windy for him, before heading back home. It had been beautiful beyond belief and he was more than grateful to have seen it with his own eyes, but the howling winds kept him from getting a good night's sleep while there. Something about the wind bothered him, it was almost as if something had been trying to speak to him in a different tongue. The stories he gathered from newfound friends were almost unbelievable, between the adventures had to the romantic almosts and was. He had sighed a sigh of relief when he arrived home, having no dangerous tales to tell or offspring to unload upon his clan. He couldn't do that to them, not after declaring that love was out there just out of his grasp. They'd know something was off if he returned with hatchies and no mate.

Once more, he flew off, looking for the missing part of his life.

Noisur's trip to the Windswept Plateau was something he hadn't expected. He found peace there, a type he'd never seen anywhere else, and the thought occurred to him that it would be possible to stay there, in the windy landscape, and call it home.

Unfortunately, his trip came to an abrupt halt when his sister sent him a letter, a cry for help that their home clan had been engaged in a horrific battle, and although he knew his sister tended to exaggerate, he rushed home.
Alas, the "horrific battle" had been nothing more than a feuding clan striking a batch of new recruits, many of whom were weak and scrambled off into the night. Their bodies were found days later as a hunting party set out in search of food. They were given adequate burials.

Noisur left his home lair, again, to avoid the conflict between the feuding clans. Upon his journey, he found himself lost in The Viridian Labyrinth. Wandering through the mass amounts of plant life he noticed a Skydancer, dressed in bird skulls. Unfortunately, he did not see the green Spiral right next to him. Instantly she tackled him, Wrapping her rope-like body around his legs to keep him from running. "WHO ARE YOU?! AND WHY ARE YOU HERE!" She yelled at Noisur. The Green Spirals yelling caught the Skydancer's attention. "Hey- calm down Corrin you're scaring away the animals." He said in a soft voice. Despite his apparel, he seemed like a tolerable guy. "THERE'S A TRESPASSER!" She yelled again. Noisur struggled to get out of her grip. "Jeez, and an ugly one at that." She added in a quieter tone. "Let the guy go. He's probably just hunting for another clan!" The Skydancer said. The Spiral now known as Corrin loosened her grip on Noisur, letting him go. "I apologize about her, she get's really defensive while hunting." The Skydancer said again in his soft tone. "Oh- My name's Dantor if you're wondering." Noisur shuffled awkwardly, thinking if it was worth it to stay with them for a day or two. "My name's Noisur, and I'm not from a nearby clan." He gave a sheepish smile. Corrin spoke up in a rather excited tone. "OH mY gOD Dantor, he's one of those traveling dragons!" Corrin bounced up in down. Dantor titled his head at Noisur as to simply ask, 'Really?' "Ah- yes you could call me that!" He said rather anxiously. "Oh, rad- our clan often houses traveling dragons before they run off again." Dantor said. "You don't mind if I stay right?" Noisur asked. "Of course we don't mind! we've got a couple more staying with us right now!" Corrin said. "Here follow me, and Corrin, keeping hunting." Dantor said glaring at Corrin. "Ughhhhh-" She groaned before jumping into the bushes. Their lair wasn't that far surprisingly. A tall purple Imperial greeted them at the door. "Another traveler?" She asked. "Yes Letherii." Dantor said softly. "Welcome- help yourself to some food, we have plenty." Noisur walked into the lair being greeted by its inhabitants along with other traveling dragons.

The weary dragon found himself wandering the very dead and festering Scarred Wasteland, a very different place from the Labyrinth, lush and green. Somewhere upon his travels he stumbled upon a massive territory, with tents scattered around a large wall. Curious and tired, the imperial stumbled towards it, to be cheerfully greeted by a crowd of odd dragons. As he was lead towards the central wall, he couldn't help but cringe as boney dragons looked down upon him. Soon a council of skeletons stepped from a large gate. For the sake of comfort they nudged forwards a large, ghostly imperial, who's booming voice resonated through the fog and smoke, "Welcome to the Carnival of Carnage, do not be alarmed by what you see, for we are simple, friendly folk, just looking to live our rotted, lives, without much problems." It wasn't long before Noisur was settled in with his own tent. He quickly became friendly with the clan, even finding enough comfort to explain what his situation was, which gained him the offer to train with the clan's warriors, an offer he simply couldn't pass up. Why would he? His home was falling apart, and now he's been offered the chance to change that. It was rough training, with long and often brutal hours, but every enemy fought he could feel himself getting stronger. Unfortunately, he came upon the decision that it was simply time to move on, and so he thanked his new friends, with an, "I will return to visit someday." and with that was gone, heading to his next destination.

Noisur found himself back in the labyrinth, in the same lair as before. Except two different dragons greeted him. Two small faes, one green and the other a sort of wine-ish color.
"I just don't understand why they sent us out. We could be squashed so easily!" The wine colored one complained to Noisur. He recognized the two. The green one was Dargoso, the founder of the clan and the other being his mate.
"As I said before Dargosa- we're only here to guide lost travelers, like Noisur!" Dargoso said, pointing at the tall imperial. "The clan's that way if you're wondering. We'd be happy to have you again."
"Thank you, it's nice to be back."

The first time he stayed in the Windswept Plateau, the sound drove him crazy. The second time he found peace. The third time... He found love. She was everything he'd ever hoped for. And he now firmly believed in that at 'first sight' thing. They could and did talk for hours. She hadn't been born in the wind flight. She had moved there for her health. He'd been afraid to ask. So it took awhile to piece together her story from what she said. A water dragon should have strong lungs. She didn't. She needed the wind to help her breathe. That was why she moved here. It didn't take him long to realize, she didn't have much time left. She comforted him. Their courtship left every dragon around them breathless. She laughed at that. Finding it amusing. They exchanged rings.
Teardrop Jade Ring
Ignoring the risks, as she wanted to experience every aspect of life, they set a nest.
In due time they greeted three wonderful little hatchlings. And they were happy.
duK4nLy.png
But they had known it wouldn't last. And her breathing was soon not help by the wind... She didn't want to leave him. He didn't want to lose her. But sometimes you can't get what you want.
After she was gone... Staying, in the wind became unbearable, her memory was everywhere...
So he he sent the oldest hatchling home to his sister and said goodbye to his other two. Knowing the clan he stayed at would take care and love them.
With his trusty Magnifier he moved on. Wearing the ring she gave him. Going back to doing the only thing that makes sense.

Noisur was destitute. The fire that was once in his heart-- the desire to explore, find better lands-- was dwindling. The love of his life was gone. She had given him three beautiful hatchlings before she passed, and he was eternally grateful for that. Still, something inside him wasn't ready to return home. In his depressed state, it was no wonder how Noisur ended up wandering into Wispwillow Grove. He had never been in the Shadowbinder's realm before, but something about the dark, dreary wood he now found himself consoled him. It was as if the very trees were in mourning with him, comforting him with their mere presence.
Before long, the imperial could hear chattering and the familiar sound of a liar-- quite a large one, by the sound of it. The lair consisted of hollowed out tree trunks, burrows, and even large caves. The larger dragons lived in the caves and underground tunnels, which they had carved out themselves. The smaller dragons lived in and around the ancient trees. The general atmosphere of the lair sharply contrasted the gloomy forest around it. Noisur felt an overwhelming aura of love. Upon closer inspection, he noticed that nearly every dragon was a part of a pair. Hatchlings ran about, sparring with their siblings or being fussed over by over-protective parents.
Noisur felt overwhelmed. He was bombarded with memories of the love he lost. Right as he was about to turn and leave, a large, kind-eyed bogsneak seemed to appear out of the woodwork. She radiated an almost motherly love, and Noisur felt the pain in his heart start to dull slightly. It took some convincing, but she managed to coax Noisur back to the lair. She showed him to an empty cave and wordlessly nuzzled his neck-- it seemed as though she sensed his pain. With that, she left, back to her own roost in the undergrowth. She would keep an eye on Noisur while he stayed here.
Finally, the day came for Noisur to move on. He had made good friends with many of the dragons at this lair, but it was time for him to move on. His heart still ached for the love he lost, but spending time among so many pairs gave him hope for the future. Armed with newfound hope, Noisur says goodbye to his good friend, that same bogsneak that greeted him on his first day. She present him a gift-- a hand-made amulet to symbolize his visit to the Shadowbinder's realm. With one final friendly nudge, the Imperial takes flight, the flame inside rekindled once again.

Abysea, 137206 Noisur felt he must have had a magnet to Wind at this point. He simply glided where his wings dared to take him, where instinct pushed him. Now here he was again. He felt an odd sense of relief as it no longer pained him to fly over the plateau. Though the reminders of his lost love were everywhere he felt almost at peace with it now.

As if almost a reminder of how he once felt himself, he encountered a dragoness recently shaken by death. Raspynn relayed her story of how she saw a God- the Earthshaker free a dragon's soul. He nodded with understanding, stifling tears that came to his eyes. The memories of his mate's last breath came to mind and he excused himself from the conversation, tearing away from her.

He then encountered Yaakovit who was unapologetic brash and lively. He found her presence strangely comforting. Perhaps it was her bluntness in every situation or maybe her almost childish nature which reminded him of his own hatchlings. Whatever the reason was, when it came time to part from Wind once more he decided to go with Yaakovit to her new destination.

Spooner, 45393 ....Apparently, Yaakovit's new destination was an ugly old desert. Yeah, he wasn't having that. Deserts just kind of sucked, really. And no, he didn't think filling them with booze and 'flexing' improved anything. The dragons in this clan welcomed him, but he couldn't stand them; they had everything wrong, right down to where they'd set up. Caves? Freezing at night, boiling in the sun? This was insanity on a stick.

Seriously, home was much better.

It had been a while since he'd thought of home, but now he thought of it, he couldn't shake the thought. There was something familiar on the breeze one day, and he was gone, leaving Yaakovit to party with the 'MANGENTA MANS' below. She'd be okay, he told himself. He'd come back, or they'd meet again. But right now, home called him, and he could only trust his instincts on that.

Hopefully, nothing bad had happened.

His entire flight home, he couldn't help but think of Yaakovit. He felt bad leaving his new friend so soon but he just had to get home. The journey itself, was uneventful. Boring. And he was grateful. He'd come home, just in time to see some old friends departing, and it made him think, once again, of Yaakovit. He gathered a few things that reminded him of her and sent a care package to her home lair. A few days later, to his surprise, the package was returned to him left unopened. A frown tugged on his face and he turned to the delivery dragon. "There was no one there by that name. Sorry 'Mac." And he was gone. His heart ached.

Eventually, Noisur got over his heartache. He'd lost so many friends while he'd been away.
However there was one friendly face waiting for him when he'd returned. Leona. The two had been friends since childhood, and while he hadn't written her often, he'd thought of her. The two bonded over "lost travelers"-> the dragons who'd vanished during the night. They exchanged stories around the fire, and soon enough, Noisur felt himself falling in love with her. Leona on the other hand, needed some convincing. She'd been burned before, and she hardened her heart shortly afterwards.

He'd won.
Noisur and Leona were mated before the Shadowbinder, in the eyes of the Clan. To no ones surprise, the two had nest after nest.

Maybe Love was in the cards for him after all.
