If you were to describe Kupros in one word, that word would be cunning. Another fitting word would be haughty. An irritable genius, Kupros uses his particular brand of magic along with his vast intellect to perform alchemical experiments. Hailing from the Highland Scrub of the Shifting Expanse, Kupros decided one day he was done with the desert. The other lightning dragons were too busy with their blueprints and machines to appreciate the fine art of alchemy. Well not Kupros; he had always been fascinated with the art-science, ever since he was a hatchling. |

Quote:
Darkness permeated the air. Lightning crackled within the clouds, creating flashes of brilliant heavens.
Rain, at last.
Kupros spread his wings in preparation for takeoff. Feeling the current of the air run through his feathers, he crouched and leapt into the air with one powerful gust from great wings. The Skydancer hated it here in the desert – too much heat, too little rain, silly little dragons with their silly little tinkering – but he would always love rainstorms. The flash of lightning, the pour of rain. It was perfect weather for his purposes.
Flashes of light glinted off blue-tinged feathers. Thunder rumbled across the sky. The dragon banked a curve, gliding along the air currents until he came across a large building built out of stone.
His workshop.
Kupros swooped down until he came to rest in front of the entrance. He used a claw to push open the door, then stepped inside, shaking off the worst of the droplets. Upon entering he was greeted by a beautiful female Spiral and a dark red Serthis.
The female dragon spoke. “Kupros, darling, you’re soaking wet! What ever have you been up to?”
Kupros gave a grin, flashing sharp teeth as he unbuckled his satchel. “I found these for our newest batch of poisons,” he replied, drawing out a set of light turquoise flowers. The delicate petals were paper-thin and jagged, and the leaves were shaped like mini bolts of lightning. The Serthis sucked in a sharp breath.
“Lightning Blossoms,” he said in a raspy voice. “One of the deadliest flowers known to grow in the desert.” He snapped his head up. “How did you find these?”
“Oh, I have my ways,” Kupros replied haughtily. The serpent snorted.
Kupros turned towards his mate. “Half of these will be used in my poisons, while the other half… The other half will be ground up into dye. Your claws will look lovely dipped in these, my love.”
The Spiral, Sylvia, gave a coy smile. “Oh darling they’re wonderful,” she replied. Turquoise and copper jewelry decorated her wings, giving her a look of royalty. “But when are we getting out of this wretched place?” she added, pouting a little. “You promised me that we would leave before the year is out!”
“And we will,” Kupros promised. “Before the rains end. I just wanted to find these first; they don’t exist outside of the desert.” He raised his head. “You hear that, Kemi? We’re leaving soon.” Kupros grinned again. “We’re getting out of this place.”
