► HISTORY
Rilivi belongs to a race of aliens known as Aletebri. She was born into royalty and spent her childhood and early adult life on the planet of Alete. As one of the eldest princesses, she received intensive training from royal tutors and advisors. She and her siblings were expected to accompany their parents on expeditions into outer space.

It was on one of these expeditions that the royal spaceship passed too near Sornieth. A freak solar flare badly damaged the ship, sending it crashing into Leviathan Trench. Nearly all of the Aletebri and Siebar aboard escaped with their lives, but the ship was damaged beyond repair. The planet's magic also reacted strangely to the aliens, transforming them so that they looked more like the native dragons.

The aliens were stranded on Sornieth, perhaps for good. Encouraged by their king, they dispersed across the continent and settled among dragonkind. Rilivi was one of the stubborn few who clung to the thought of repairing the ship and returning to Alete, but eventually she, too, realized this was futile. Her father suggested that she find a clan to settle down in, and after meeting a Tundra explorer, she was recruited by the Disillusionists as a Dispatch Officer.

The Dispatch Officer's job consists largely of sending dragons on errands and arranging the transfer of goods. Rilivi can often be found hard at work in the Commercial Wing -- unless she is away helping dragons who have found themselves in peril, in which case the word "dispatch" may take on a slightly more sinister meaning....

► CHARACTER
Strictly trained and highly educated, Rilivi takes her duties very seriously. She may no longer be an Alete princess, but that she is a noble of some sort is evident in the way she carries herself. She is calm, composed, and perpetually stoic, likelier to frown than to smile. Although she understands Draconian and is fast becoming fluent in it, her translation equipment sustained some damage in the crash, and plenty of idioms tend to sail over her head. She is probably not the best person to crack jokes to.

Most dragons are more familiar with her voice than her face: For most of her waking hours, she remains in the Commerce Wing panopticon, keeping up a steady stream of announcements. Her "announcing voice" is perky and rather sing-song, so most dragons are surprised to discover that she is actually very serious and that her normal voice is a flat, almost bored monotone. She is not a social dragon and even when she is not working, she does not prefer to spend time with other people. Most of her free time is taken up with studying Sornieth and learning more about dragonkind.

Rilivi also spends time working on the devices she rescued from her family's ship. She is unable to use magic, but has modified her weapons to do so, and trains regularly to maintain her combat skills. She is more eager for action than she lets on, and enjoys many of the missions that see her traveling abroad, helping clanmates who've gotten themselves into sticky situations. She has earned a reputation among more trouble-prone clanmates as a reliable rescuer -- and an incredibly ferocious fighter.

She keeps in sporadic touch with her Aletebri relatives and comrades. Although she was once very keen on repairing her family's ship so that they could all return home, she seems to have let go of this completely, and is now well on her way to becoming a fixture in the Disillusionists' lair.

Like many of her relatives, she was transformed by magic deep within Leviathan Trench and now strongly resembles a Skydancer. She retains many of her Aletebri traits: She can breathe underwater, and her bioluminescent markings, which cover her from head to tail, change color depending on her mood. She is only superficially a dragon, however, and lacks many of a true dragon's abilities, such as the Skydancer breed's empathy or the capacity for magic.

Meaning: "Mirroring Waters" in Aletibri. This name is typically given to Alete that was similar in appearance to one of their parents. Interestingly, most important historical figures with this name are known as spies or admirals and warriors.

Rhaplanca | Supervisor
The Commerce Director oversees all operations of the Commerce Wing, including Rilivi's tasks. Rilivi is happy to defer to Rhaplanca and performs her everyday duties well; on the flip side, Rhaplanca readily turns a blind eye to Rilivi's comings and goings, since she has learned by now that they result in clanmates coming home safely (if a bit shell-shocked).

Taymar | Father
The Alete King dotes on all his children, and Rilivi is no exception. Outwardly, Rilivi seems embarrassed by her father's displays of affection -- but it's also easy to see that she appreciates his concern. They communicate infrequently with each other, mostly exchanging casual messages and everyday news about their respective clans.

Alcamoth | Mother
As personalities go, Rilivi seems to be more like her mother. She still looks up to Alcamoth, who is perhaps an even fiercer fighter than her daughter, as aggressive as Taymar is sweet.

► STATS & ABILITIES

Rilivi was an enthusiastic student of the martial arts when she was living in Alete, and coming to Sornieth hasn't changed that. She stays in shape and practice by sparring with a select few clanmates. She fights with modified Alete weapons, but can also battle unarmed. She is unable to use magic, however, and finds herself unable to counter some hostile spells and enchantments.

Although she is not as peppy as she often sounds, Rilivi seems to run on a steady flow of hidden energy, able to deliver messages nonstop from dawn to dusk -- and still have strength to nip out for the occasional rescue mission or two. But when she is not working, she is decidedly close-mouthed, almost somber. She seems immune to most illnesses, though this might be due to luck rather than natural resistance.

Since she isn't native to Sornieth and is not really a dragon, Rilivi has no magic and is unable to learn it. She must rely on her comrades completely if she is to defend herself from any kind of enchantment. About the best she can do is ask mages to imbue her weapons with magic or use prepackaged spells.

Although Rilivi has had to discard much that she learned on Alete, she has retained her good study habits and is an eager learner. Studying takes up much of her free time, and she is always ready to learn more about Sornieth and its inhabitants. She has also been blessed with a naturally keen mind and is an observant, intelligent being.

Thanks to careful training from the Disillusionists, Rilivi can make even the most mundane messages sound perky...but only when she is at work. Once she clocks out, she quickly reverts to her usual close-mouthed, serious self. She could probably whip up inspiring speeches, as befits a noble of her stature, but she would really rather not.

Between escaping the spaceship crash unharmed and finding a good home for herself, Rilivi is luckier than most. Her intelligence, skills, and readiness to adapt have helped her carve out a new life in Sornieth, and she appears able to handle any challenges that might lie ahead.
