In the second he heard steps approaching in the darkness, Monde was wide awake. His heart pounding heavily, he jumped to his feet and stepped up in front of his sister, who lay on the ground, curled up in a pile to keep herself warm. His nostrils twitched. He smelled someone coming… and they were coming closer and closer. Monde strained all his muscles, prepared to attack. He was tired and exhausted, but if he only fought long enough, Lune would have a chance to get away unharmed.

Monde is a difficult character to deal with. He is highly suspicious of everyone and everything, pessimistic, and tends to be annoyed easily. But he is a very protective and loving dragon especially towards his sister and his partner, but also towards other dragons he likes. He helps a lot around the lair, even if it mostly happens with an annoyed huff or rolling his eyes. Whenever newcomers arrive, he is the skeptical one, trying to determine whether they pose a danger to the lair. This often leads to new dragons being scared, annoyed, or even aggressive. Even dragons that know him are sometimes offended by his behavior, but few speak his mind to him. However, he appreciates if others stand up to him. With Schnee, who does so very often, he shares a deep friendship. He is also a very proud dragon, who cannot take defeat well. He often struggles with his own weaknesses. Unconsciously, he depends on Lune to bring a little positivity into his life. He’d never admit it though. |
Background

Monde is Lune’s older brother and very protective of his little sister. When she was exiled from her former lair, Monde did not hesitate a moment before following her. He was fuming at his lair’s decision, but also filled with worry for his hurt and helpless sister. When he finally found her, he promised to stay by her side forever. During their entire search for a new home, Monde saw it as his responsibility to ensure Lune’s safety and well-being. He kept guard while she was sleeping, hunted while she was resting, and carried her when she couldn’t walk or fly. Whenever Lune inquired about his own condition, he smiled and told her not to worry. Monde protected his sister whenever he felt the need to. Even when they faced Claudius and his guardian followers, Monde stepped in front of Lune, even though he stood no chance against the much bigger dragons. Thankfully, no blood was shed that day. However, Monde almost attacked Ornes when the Skydancer found the two siblings. Lune managed to calm him and together with her, he joined the Rose Spar. He will only stay in the lair until he can convince Lune to leave. That is what he says, at least. |

Monde's first impression of Ornes was a two-sided one. On the one hand, he was suspicious of the healer. On the other hand, he was relieved to find someone who'd help them out. However, this relief soon turned into something else. Monde realized he was amazed by the healer's way with words, his strength, his dedication, and also his good heart. Monde had a hard time admitting he liked Ornes in a way that was more than just friendship. When he did admit it, though, his feelings were returned. |

To Monde, his little sister is the most important dragon in the world. Ever since she was a hatchling, he put her before himself, making sure she was safe and happy. When their clan exiled her and even their parents turned their back on her, it was clear instantly that Monde would not stay with them. He would give his life in an instant to save Lune's. The fact that she lost her pearl is not an issue to him, unless she herself feels like an imposter. In these moments, Monde feels helpless and lost. Even though he'd never admit it, Monde is amazed by his sister's intelligence. He never shared his sister's curiosity, but he still organizes materials for her building projects together with Summer, the only dragon besides Lune he is never mean to (she is too friendly in his eyes). This way, he wants to prevent his sister from wandering off alone and getting hurt. |

Monde and Schnee share a very unique friendship. Most dragons would not assume the two can even be in the same room together without killing each other, but that is not the case. Indeed, Monde and Schnee don't talk much and if they do, they exchange huffs, roars, and insults. But both of them know the other can take it, which makes them equals in a weird way. |

When Monde looked out for someone to join him on his expeditions into the Golem Workshop, Summer sure was one of the last dragons on his mental list. However, the chipper druid showed off some amazing skills in training. Additionally, she understood his desire to keep Lune safe right away and didn't let him intimidate her. He is thankful to have her, as she often lifts his spirits but also knows when to give him space. As Summer is extremely kind and good-hearted, Monde is unable to be mean and gruff to her. |
