Biography
______ |
Children of the witch and the mechanic are taught how to control the Plague magic that is highly saturated in their bones from birth; some hatchlings have almost unstable concentrations of magic while others had all of theirs drained in the shell. The effects are always unpredictable. Regardless, their parents try to give them as full of a life as possible, nurturing and loving each of their children as best as they can. Of course, love and nurture won't always take. |

Small, slender Hildr is what could be called the runt of her nest. Though the Plague magic that flows in her veins is potent, she found a way to purge it when it threatened to swell and spill over when she was still a hatchling. This came as an immense relief to her parents, having had her other nest siblings to worry about. Of her siblings, Hildr was the smallest, the most easily forgotten, and her childhood was a lonely one. This, understandably, led to a degree of resentment harboured against her siblings, and as she grew, Hildr began learning anything anyone would teach her. Her father taught her the basics of electrical engineering, the cooks taught her what flora and fauna were edible in the Wasteland, the healers taught her how to disinfect cuts and treat wounds-- anything went, as long as she had the patience for it. This also meant that she spent a fair bit of time among the 'rougher' dragons in the clan: warriors, spies, assassins. A few of them were willing to teach her the tools of their trade, though they stopped short at teaching her how to deliver a killing blow. Some were killers, but it didn't seem right, teaching a wide-eyed young spiral how to slit the throat of a sleeping noble or where to aim a sword strike that would take the an enemy's helmet off, along with their head. Of course, her mentors realised, Hildr's grim determination that had gotten her through hours of gruelling practise sessions and training bouts was already fairly dangerous in itself. Her steely-eyed gaze and quiet resolve was an unnerving look on one so full of youth. Unaware, Hildr pressed on. In time, perhaps, she will learn that there is only so much that will fill the empty ache in her chest. When she finally turns her iron will to the matter of leaving the clan, half of its members turn up to bid her farewell. After the festivities, she takes to the sky and she does not look back. | ______ |
