Jericho

The scent of flowers, the glitter of snowflakes, fear. Was that from my mother or the dragon she was speaking too? I was but a hatchling, scared of the world, still learning. I heard coins being exchanged, quiet voices I didn't understand, a shuffle of footsteps. And then, like the quiet breeze that night, she was gone. I did not see my mother after that. The other dragon she had been talking with, looked down and smiled at me but it was a forced smile.

I have grown up here, it has been all I have ever known. The dragons here say that my mother died in an accident and they were forced to adopt me, but I know better. I remember. I don't miss her, nor do wish to see her again. She made her choice, and I have made mine.

A hum came from Jericho, spilling blood of his "was" clan mates over the stone floor of a lost lair deep within the cracks of The Southern Icefield. Chanting words from long ago, he holds a book with pages ripped and dirty. "I give in to you...Icewarden, embrace me with your chill touch, let me become a king in the presence of your chains" Jericho listens...soft crunching of snow and crackling of his small fire fills the air, eyes of purple center itself in darkness. "I am no Warden, but I can give you the power in which you pray for" A deep voice bellows and shakes to Jericho's call, and a smile gleams now on his face an he replies "I want to find the dragoness who sold me like a slave, for I am a king...no a god" he giggles to himself "I need to show the world my great power!" The eyes glare at him "careful what you wish for" as the jaws of the creature engulfed him.

Folk stories tell of a fell god that stalks the deepest woods in winter, heralded by the rattle of chains, the crunch of snow, and the creaking of frozen branches. His mere presence is enough to extinguish flame and freeze blood in veins, and he comes for the souls of those that have perished in the bitter cold. He only stalks the border of a Cult, seemingly searching for something among the crowd...
