Dragon Log

She was born to a mother fascinated with the stars and the sun, and a father who loves the Moon. With a pedigree like that, you would expect her to love space more than anything else...but there is always a "rebel" in every family. This little one is developing more of an interest in reading about space, rather than looking at the sky. Most likely she will take a name for her appearance alone, rather than her interests. She has, however, attracted a friend: Moments after joining the clan, a Brilliant Psywurm saw her reading, and wandered over. Now they are inseparable...much to the dismay of a certain Ridgeback, who was hoping the Psywurm would like her, instead. Oh, well. It's probably better this way, as the Ridgeback's Baku friend would be lonely without her.

7-24-14: At her naming ceremony, she chose a name to honor her mother, Sunfire, and literally called herself after the fire that comes from the sun. It remains to be seen whether her siblings will follow in that vein....

9-13-14: After much thought, Corona has decided on a name for her beloved companion: Flare. He seems to like it, judging by the fact he has not stopped preening his fur since she told him....

10-7-14: Flare has Awakened to his true potential! The Brilliant Psywurm is positively beaming, and Corona is glowing with happiness for her friend. Now that he is fully part of the Clan, she is looking forward to many wonderful chats with him--if she can get him off her latest astronomy book, that is.

10-27-14: Corona has learned a lesson in keeping her mouth shut about other Flights--and also about betting with Nimby on anything pertaining to astronomy: After losing such a bet, she paid the forfeit of joining Nimby at a Riot of Rot party in his old Flight of Plague, and had…interesting…time… ( )
Oh dear...it seems that after this little adventure Nimby will be in for quite the tongue-lashing...but on the other hand, perhaps Corona will look more favorably on Plague Flight from now on--or at least on games that do not involve drinking, as she really did not appreciate having to help Nimby back to the caves....

2-25-15: During the Trickmurk Festival, Teeka's Clan (a Plague Clan) played a series of pranks upon the Clan. One of these involved a mechanical bug that gave off a single tone at irregular intervals, and moved around. ( )
The creature definitely has caused problems at the Clan, but it seems that one dragon, at least, is appreciative of the golem, if not of the prank, and that is Corona, who is delighted to have acquired her very own “Sputnik,” to the dismay of the rest of the Clan, who really don’t appreciate the beeping…
( ) (Needless to say, Corona won’t be the one from the Clan sending an answering prank....)

12-25-15: Moonturns of lazing around the lair, reading and studying the stars, has suddenly been abandoned in one incredible moment. Chosen to babysit the egg that had been a gift from Teeka's Clan, Corona was present when the small hatchling emerged.... and immediately fell in love. Now she has a son!

2-6-16: To the shock of the whole clan, after moons of a vey close friendship, Corona's Brilliant Psywurm has suddenly decided to try to broaden his dragon's horizons--by introducing her to a new prospective companion. The somewhat shy Autumn Sea Dragon does not seem entirely unwilling to try out the experiment--and at least Sunbeam does not try to sit on Corona's books.....

5-9-16: Sunbeam has been quietly basking in Corona's company. So quietly, in fact, that much of the Clan forgot he was even there--including Corona, half the time. So it came as a great shock to the young Tundra today when she turned around and realized that her Autumn Sea Dragon friend had Awakened at last. Perhaps Sunbeam will be a little bit more confident now that he is fully mature.... or perhaps not.

8-15-18: Corona was a bit startled today when an older familiar knocked poor Sunbeam out of the way in her haste to bond with the Tundra. It wasn't so much the bonding that startled her, but the identity of the familiar in question. Why on earth is a Venomblade Assassin interested in her, when there are so many other, far more ferocious, dragons in the Clan? It doesn't seem to make sense, but the Serthis was quite insistent, and has even already chosen a "fiery" name for herself, in a clear attempt to make a good impression. Corona--and the Clan--will just have to wait and see where this goes....

11-24-18: Blaze, the Venomblade Assassin. has Awakened at last! Corona is still not sure why she was chosen to be the lucky dragon bonded to this particular familiar, but at least the bond is now complete, and she no longer needs to worry about any of her family--familiar and dragon alike--being poisoned in their sleep...

4-22-20: It has been a long time since any familiar has been interested in Corona, and she had begun to think that she would not get a chance to bond with another until the rest of the Clan had had their chance. The Swift Lumen that she found in her sleeping nook, however, had other ideas. At least there is no question as to why “Illumen” was so interested in her. Where else would a fox that acquires energy through the sun go, if not to the Tundra named for an energy blast from the sun? It makes perfect sense, no matter what anyone else says…

7-20-20: Illumen has Awakened! Corona is happy to see her friend full of so much energy. And it seems that Illumen’s decision to mature at last has had a positive effect upon others, as well, as a Critical Mass Volten that lived in the area has decided that he likes Corona’s Swift Lumen, and now wants to be a part of the Clan too. Corona was a little worried that he might try to initiate a bond with her as well, but he seems to be far more interested in the Experimental Magics Cave than in the Library. Perhaps this new creature will find his chosen dragon among the more, er, unusual members of the Clan. In the meantime, though, Illumen and he are becoming very good friends, and Corona is benefitting from their partnership in all sorts of ways…

11-23-20: Corona is elated! An event that she had honestly given up on ever happening has just occurred, unlooked for: The triplets’ “missing sister” has been found at last. The newest “Festival Egg” hatched yesterday into a beautiful brown and red female Earth Tundra…and today this star-struck little one has decided to accept the three Tundras’ offer to become their missing sibling. Even better, this new hatchling seems to like the Library almost as much as Corona herself. This is going to be wonderful…
