Intrigued, Auriga tilted her head at the beast in front of her. While it looked gruesome, its flesh torn, fire burning in its eyes, and its skull showing, it just stood there, mimicking her gesture. “Hello”, Auriga whispered. The Nightmare looked at her from glowing eyes and a soft huff sent small clouds from its nostrils into the cold night air.

Personality

Auriga is a self-confident woman. She knows her strengths and weaknesses well and can use her abilities efficiently. She is an excellent and quick flier, who enjoys showing off her skills and amazing spectators.

Auriga is no diplomat and she doesn’t aim to be. She honestly speaks her mind to whoever asks… and those who don’t ask. More often than not, Auriga will throw a sarcastic comment into discussions between the older dragons to add a new point of view. Even though some dragons deem her silly, she is a smart dragon that loves to provoke others to make them rethink their current stand point. However, she does not insist of her point of view being correct. Instead, she rather wants the decision makers to consider an option they would have overlooked otherwise.

Background

In the middle of a stormy night, little Auriga’s cries for help reached Faraille’s ears. The Spiral hatchling was clinging to a tree very close to the lair’s cave, risking to be torn away by the treacherous wind any second. Faraille brought her back to the lair, where the exhausted hatchling fell asleep instantly cuddling to the mighty Guardian.

Despite her self-imposed oath, Faraille felt her heart warming towards the lost hatchling. She took care of the exhausted Spiral, feeding and warming her, while the others of the Rose Spar searched for Auriga’s parents. However, even after weeks of searching, they were nowhere to be found. Without hesitating, Faraille adopted the hatchling, giving her a loving home to grow up in.

While Pearlfeather quickly caught Auriga’s interest, she was careful around him. His playfulness in flirting and his way with words aroused her sense for competition. She was cocky towards him, toying a bit, while seeing how he’d react. But Pearlfeather remained calm, even seemed to enjoy her provocative behavior. It didn’t take long for their flirting to become more serious and profound.

Faraille adopted Auriga as a hatchling and gave her a loving home. Auriga does not remember anything about her parents, but she never missed them. She knows Faraille is not her mother by blood, but she doesn’t care. To her, Faraille means family.

When Faraille adopted Auriga, Ornes was already an adult. He took best possible care of his new baby sister and taught Auriga many things. Even though she will use any possibility to tease him, she admires him a lot.

Auriga and Pearlfeather lost their daughter to a tragedy. One day, the hatchling wandered off into the forest and did not return. Summer saw her being taken by beastclan members, but she could not save the hatchling. It hit Auriga harshly. For days on end, she searched the forests, only to return clueless and exhausted. It was only due to the loving care of Pearlfeather, her family, and her friends, that she slowly could move on.

Even though it might not seem like it, Auriga trusts Alaysa to make the right decisions when leading the clan. Her provocative comments are by no means challenges or criticism, but instead she tries to make Alaysa think once more before choosing a path to follow. Some dragons assume Auriga wants to take over the clan and lead it herself, but she aspires after no such thing. Alaysa and her had a rocky start, but after talking things out and making their points clear, the two of them became friends.
