Night of the Nocturne: Bound to Mimic





There was no denying that Shadowsong was telling the truth. All around her, Reithya found her clanmates snoozing or otherwise entranced by fanciful lights that adorned the domain taken by the clan. What one might mistaken as an evening spent frolicking and in rejoice for dominance, something far more sinister sneaked within the shadows of the mountain.

The wasteland veteran made no sound, no acknowledgement aside from a non-verbal nod to the nocturne as she quickly began to trot around the Ancient Lair. Hidden from view of the nocturne, only her trusty companion, the black cat that was always at her side, followed. For cats can sense the beings of sensitive natures~

Despite her haste, the hour drew ever longer as even the lava of Blacksand Annex itself seemed to cool and darken, to give off little light in this darkened night. Yet the skilled wildclaw did not give up, and soon came across a young, handsome pearlcatcher. One of the second generation offspring from the progenitor and matron of the clan.





Regalia's gaze never once flinched from the orbiting balloon dancing in the sky. The trail of tassels whipping to and fro in a mesmerizing display, keeping the young male enthralled as the spell continued to come over the clan.

That must be the mimic! Reithya thought to herself in a panic. But how could she get to it while it danced so carelessly over the Great Furnace itself?! As a plague dragon, her very hide shivered at the thought of falling into the magnificence of her home, the raw, liquid, untapped power of Sornieth herself! Her cat companion mewed in sensing her discomfort, but the globe never tore it's menacing gaze away from it's prize, the dragon it had bonded to; the poor lad just wanting to gain the attention of his parents and be all that shined in the lair...

But then, a blue hue began to emanate from within the depths of the rocky terrain. A soft pawprint after another echoing up the pathway, before glowing blue candles and flames began to clear away and eat at the very spell the mimic cast.





Scoria stepped forth, and soon, even the young dragon had to turn his gaze to view the blue hue that radiated from the strange source. "Leave him," came the command of the newcomer. The globe hissed as it's tassels whipped around to try and entrance this new dragon, but even then as it finally gaze into the stark lapis crystal above his forehead horn, the balloon slowly fell into it's new trance.

"Come with me, little one. The darkness is easier to fend away when you've light to guide the way," the blue eyed pearlcatcher mused, and as he turned, the globe followed obediently, stuck in a trance all his own.

Reithya stared from the shadows, equally grateful and uneasy about this newcomer, until her companion raced over and purred as it met Scoria's leg. In turn, Scoria gave an affectionate nibble to the cat's tail, and dipped his head to the protector who waited, hiding in the shadows, before disappearing into the mountain once more, taking the mimic and the spell it had cast, with him.

Past, Present, and Future Tarot Reading:
2 of swords (past): In Scoria's past he learned that meditation and focusing the mind helped him with his abilities. His confidence in making difficult decisions all comes from the hard work he has done to center himself.

Inversed Queen of Pentacles (present): As an inversed card the meaning hasn't changed but the specifics of it have. Most queens are linked to a motherly nature I think with this one it is more fatherly but the traits of the queen pentacles still apply if in the extreme. Scoria is wise and protective. To describe him, he has a forceful will. This makes him someone a lot of dragons rely on. On top of that, he is a great teacher and may have a disciple underneath him.

Inversed 2 of pentacles (future): Scoria will be given many responsibilities soon. He can take it all and do them well without any risk of failure. However, he has a fear of losing something precious to him during this busy time. Whether it is an item or a dragon, he wants to be sure that everything is the way it is meant to be before this new part in his life.
