Biography
"Be like snow: beautiful but cold." |
Shiver
Ice Ambassador Theme
Reserved || Patient || Secretive
Shiver never knew anything but the cold as a hatchling. In such a harsh climate he'd quickly grown used to the ways of life. It was always one misfortune away from starvation, one misstep from being buried in snow or falling through the ice, and one mistake away from freezing to death. As a hatchling, the tundra learned to be patient. Being patient meant he could keep his wits about him and observe his surroundings before making sudden moves or decisions. Unlike a few of his nest mates who let hunger or impatience cloud their judgements, he survived. Thrived even. Though their losses still left their marks. In Ice, making friends could be a good thing but Shiver understood that it had its drawbacks as well. Growing older, he tried to come out of his shell more and become independent from his family. Shiver met an Ice Sprite, a rare creature that was said to be linked back to the Icewarden himself. It was then he began keeping secrets, always sneaking out to meet his one and only friend. The sprite—Spry—would tell him stories of clans throughout Sornieth. It urged him to seek out other clans and help forge alliances with outside flights. The tasks seemed daunting and Shiver was reluctant to leave his home, even as dangerous as it could be. At least here in the snow and ice he knew what to expect. Then one night his family caught him and followed Shiver to his meeting point. It was the same night he lost them in an avalanche. One swift turn of events and they were taken from him, swept away in a river of snow to be buried far from where he stood horrified and filled with terror. Spry guided him to safety and with nothing left to call home, he followed blindly. For days they walked until they reached the Fire Flight. The burning landscape and smog was suffocating—Shiver was quick to continue the journey onward. When they made it to Plague most clans and roaming dragons chased the pair of outsiders away. It wasn't until Shiver was taken into the Empire of Death that he felt somewhat safe again. The dragons granted him mercy and respect for surviving for so long. After resting up however, Shiver felt somewhat homesick. At Spry's insistence, he requested the position of an ambassador and was granted the job. From then on, he'd be able to travel between the Empire of Death and the Ice Flight to forge and maintain alliances between clans. He gathered secrets for his leader and his even temperament fit well when it came to negotiations. Shiver isn't sure how he was ever chosen for this role but... Spry seemed satisfied. |
