An ambush hunter. Silently stalking his prey for hours, if not days, his time will come, eventually. A true eldritch horror, his jaw stretches too far, he has too many teeth. It's not right.

Although his colors are bright and noticable, Raechel manages to stay hidden for long periods of time, going unnoticed. His colors make him recognisable. A person who has seen him will not be able to unsee him, he will be remembered.

His stomach never seems to be satisfied. He always hunts, and never stops. Day in day out, week in week out, year in year out, he shall hunt until he can't anymore. People will fear him, people will fear his never-ending hunger, his never-ending urge to hunt.

His jaw seems... detached. Sometimes it's just hanging there. The several rows of teeth don't make it any better, either. It's downright disturbing. Nobody really knows what caused his jaw to be able to stretch that far, sometimes it seems completely normal, like a jaw is supposed to be, but other times it's just loose.

Nobody seems to have proof he exists. He's always there in peoples dreams, but never is he seen when awake. Some say he is like Freddy Krueger, if he gets you in your nightmare, he gets you for real. But this only a myth, nobody has ever been killed by him, they always seem to wake up just in time.

____"Watch out... He's near..."
"Who?"
Raechel heard them whisper his name. It was too late now.
Quiet as a lion he slowly stalked his prey. A bush rustled. They looked up, fear in their eyes. He remained unseen.

They kept on walking and so did he. Quietly, ensuring bushes don't rustle, twigs don't crack, animals don't make noises. The night crawled through the trees and the animals began to sleep. His prey was starting to get tired, they slowed down.
"Please.... Can we stop?"
"Not now. He is still near us."
"It can't be, it has been hours!"
The words screeched endlessly through the forest, some birds flew away from their hiding spot, some deer darted away, but Raechel stayed where he was, silently watching them.

He glared at them. When would they fall asleep? His striking blue eyes met theirs. Now was his time. Raechel jumped up with his mouth wide open, revealing a row too many teeth, a jaw that stretches a little too far, and eyes full of emptyness.

Then they woke up.

Death

____It has been so long... When was the last time he ate something? These forests are so dry... Where was the nearest lake? He kept on walking, and walking, and walking, and walking... Until one day he stumbled upon a lake. A lake full of clear water, home to hundreds of healthy, big fish. Raechel dived right in. Despite the Ridgebacks nature he loved water. He didn't go very deep, as this was a lake he didn't know. Then a large fish swum by. In all efforts to catch the fish he went deep, too deep. He felt dozens of teeth being burried into his leg, claws being wrapped around his tail, and he saw eyes staring back at him, the same kind of empty eyes he has now. He seemed to be underwater for ages, for too long. Raechel opened his eyes, his empty, vibrant blue eyes, and he returned to the surface. Not even a scratch on his legs or tail. He walked away from the lake, deep into the forest, where no one would find him. Nobody would want to find him.

Yellow Feathers

____Raechel smirks, his many teeth glinting in the early morning light None will see, of course. None ever see and live to tell of it. Not here in the waking world. There is a great commotion this morning, much worry and fear. So much panic on the air. A Skydancer went missing in the night. All that remains is a splash of blood and a few bloodied yellow wing feathers. There will be no evidence to find that Raechel was here, not in the physical world. He visited the Skydancer in his sleep. Stalked through the nightmare. Ate him. No, they will find no clues here, but there is no question as to who did the deed. They all know. They all fear. It's delicious. It makes his hunger flare. Now... Which one shall he choose next?

The Scary Storybook is the only book that describes him the way he is, it is the only book his name is written in, and perhaps it should stay like that. Nobody knows where the book came from, maybe it belongs to Raechel himself?

Legend has it that if you light up 6 of these candles in 6 different rooms of your house and say the forbidden words, you will summon Raechel. Nobody has tried this before.

This book is buried deep in the forests where he hunts. It was once dug up. Pages were torn out and the paper was damaged by water. The finders quickly buried it again after reading who this book belongs to.

Multiple of these are scattered around his hunting territory. Maybe it goes with the book that once was dug up? There is no sure answer, but considering the other items that were found here it is very likely.
