The Plaguebringer's gifts are only feared by those too weak to wield them properly.
The Plaguebringer is perhaps the simplest deity to pledge devotion to: her only command is to survive. She scatters her Blessings according to her own logic which she does not share, and cares not in the slightest what her children do with her favor. Many of the Plaguebringer's Blessed lurk far from civilization, carving out petty tyrannies on the edges of the world, finding glory by testing the strength of their devotion against the uncaring wilds. Withermages are the most commonly seen bearers of the Plaguebringer's Blessing, and they are tightly regulated in Cerar Oriya. It's rare to see one outside the Temple District, and for one to be cheerfully living alongside the common folk of the city is rarer still. And for a withermage to trade her warrior's gear for a healer's staff is utterly unheard of. Aay'han relishes her paradoxical existence, and sees no contradiction between her chosen profession and the Plague way. To be a child of Plague is to prize struggle and challenge, and choosing anything less than the most difficult path is unworthy of the devotees of the Mother of Disease. Unlike her fearsome brethren, she sees no need to travel to the far corners of Sornieth to prove her worth, when there are battles to be fought aplenty right where she is: battles in miniature, inside the bodies of every dragon that seeks out her unconventional medical assistance. Cerar Oriya's resident withermage only accepts patients who have been failed by traditional healers, and her talents are not suitable for treating every malady.
