~ Aesthetic: bright coral reefs, waves crashing on a rocky shore, sunrise on the coastline, piles of seashells mixed with gold and treasure ~ Likes: swimming in bright waters, collecting treasure, traveling to new places with friends ~ Dislikes: the deep darkness of the ocean depths, losing control of herself, insects |
A lone egg drifted around the currents of the Fishspine Reef, abandoned by its parents in the ocean and left for dead. Battered and cracked, the egg came to rest on a coral outcropping on the edge of the Leviathan Trench, the pressure nearly causing the egg to crumble. Miraculously, though, the egg split in two with a burst of light, and a small baby Coatl tumbled out into the coral. Pure water magic emanated from her eyes, blending with the bubbles on her scales and reflecting in the stormy blue of her wings. Her first sight was of the vast ocean above her, the sun shining down through the water and making the coral and fish sparkle with an ethereal light. She spent her early days wandering the reef, traveling with the fish and collecting bits of fallen gold and gems. The ocean was a true home to her, she didn't venture above water too much due to her eyes- the abundant magicks flowing from them gave her incredible vision underwater, but her sight in the air was blurry at best. One day, she was caught up in a rough storm and swept off course in the waves; the current was relentless, and eventually brought her to rest against the shores of the Reedcleft Ascent. She took shelter in the nearest cave... ...only to meet a band of pirates who had made their home in the cliffs. To her surprise, the pirate clan took her in, letting her live in the reefs in the shallows with her little collection of treasure that she calls a home. Her bright personality earned her significant popularity within the Corsairs, with some dragons even leaving her offerings of coral or bits of gold, believing her to be an emissary of the Tidelord himself. They gave her the name Erythraea, or Eryth for short, which she loved. Despite her cheerful demeanor, she tries to stay away from the main clan for fear of harming them on accident- her control over her oceanic powers is rocky at best- sometimes the ethereal power overflows, triggering whirlpools and tidal waves. She mostly sticks to the outskirts of the clan for this reason, though she does love having visitors. |
"Here we stand open arms; This is home where we are
Ever strong in the world that we made
I still hear you in the breeze; See your shadows in the trees
Holding on, memories never change"
