He believes he was a soldier in life, but has only the haziest of recollections of that time. He does not know how he came to wake after his death, but he wanders the lands now, seeking a solution. Whether he's looking for a way to stop the continuing decay of his body, a way to return fully to life, or simply someone to put him to rest properly, even he isn't sure.

One of his few friends in his new afterlife is Zii- whom he met on his travels when she was just a hatchling. She paid no mind to the decayed state of his body, and instead tried to used his ribcage as a jungle gym. The first time this happened, Cas had no idea how to react to the tiny wildclaw so he fled, but they crossed paths several times after that, and they slowly developed a friendship.
